As our village ground with excellent facilities and our own groundsman is only used once every 2 weeks the club as decided to hire it out every 2 second week for cricket the hire will come with a prepared wicket but no one is sure what fee to ask
We all
Ready have had a few clubs approach ourselves requesting it and have decided on one in our division.
Any ideas on what fee would be reasonable would be helpful.
-
ive seen it range from £100 to £500, maybe worth finding a club who does the same thing in your area and get a steer from them to see what the local rate/demand is for this
-
Good idea Ian.

Not sure where you are based, but we have pitches that we regularly hire out at Cheam (Surrey)...1st Pitch (incredible track) goes at £175 per game and 2nd Pitch goes at £125...
-
You are probably looking at 150-175 in Middlesex

The club is in the Worcestershire countryside glad I asked the question as a figure of £50.00 to £ u75.00 was being discussed

The other thing to be mindful of is what it includes - eg. does it include use of changing facilities, will full clubhouse be open (bar etc... if applicable), will flags/rope/line marked be provided for boundary, will stumps and bails be provided.
all these things add up to time (someone may need to be there to open up if the club was due to be shut etc...) and money in the case of changing facilities eg. Water
we rent our pitch out for £150 (in Milton Keynes) - it comes with full access to changing rooms and all the necessary equipment
-
All the above plus hot showers we only want the club to wash up and tidy the kitchen and dining areas and put our stumps etc back in the cupboards.
-
Take a deposit or add money to the cost to cover it. We could never get that done.
-
I think thats a tad too much for round here Alan. As someone who has some experience in the area, i would suggest £100 a game. However, if they put decent money through your bar, might be worth negotiating (down).

We hire the ground to the Suffolk veterans sides - Over 60's / Over 70's - and Suffolk representative sides like the Women's 1XI and Development Squad. We look to get £120, plus money for Teas, and bar takings. I have heard of people asking for more, but you have to be realistic about how much the hirers can actually charge their players for the day. The best thing to do is hire to Corporate clients, who can afford to pay more out of marketing budgets, and generally put more behind the bar as well.
-
We pay £130 for everything including a luke warm shower, SW London area.
I think £100 is pretty reasonable and tidying up afterwards should be done automatically by any half decent teams of lads.

Passed the comments on here on The ground and facilities have now been hired by one of the larger Worcester club for there thrid team hame games for £ 50.00 per match included in the cost is a fully prepared wicket based on this thread I think the club should have charged more.

That's a bloody bargain mate - think about the hours alone it takes to prepare a wicket. Maybe one to revisit next season!
