When @VKS posted about these 'magic' bats (as @WalkingWicket37 would say) that they'd had delivered I couldnt resist the temptation and went all in on the Halestorm that was advertised at 2lb 9.8ozs.
This morning i got a notification telling me the bat was ready to collect so popped off down to the parcel shop to see if there was such a thing as a magic bat existed (it bloody needs to be for me to score runs with it)
Picking up the box the first impression was just how light the box felt! I know that is strange to say but it really did. Opening the box this bat picks up unbelievably light for the size! It really is hard to describe just how light the pickup is!
Vital details -
Weight - 2lb 10.2ozs (Fully prepared unscuffed)
Edge - 48mm
Spine - 71mm
Shoulder - 18mm
Toe @ edge - 22mm
Toe in centre - 26mm
Grains - 8 very pronounced. Does have a weird brown mark on the bottom near the toe though.
Concaving - Minimal
Profile - Mid-Mid/High Id say.
Handle - Slight Oval standard GN handle I believe.
First thing I did was knock a ball up and down on it, this bat makes a noise I don't think I've ever heard from a ball before its kind of a deep, solid thud and the response is excellent over a large proportion of the blade.
Now for some pictures -

There is a couple of strange things written under the grip should be interested if anybody knew what they might mean? I though maybe the 71st made?? But have no idea of the other pet...

Looks a good size for the weight, not many of those about.
The stuff on the handle is a code, i don't know what it refers to, but theres similar writing on all GN bats.
-
Cheers @Vitas Cricket , does it give some clue as to where it was made or is the same code on UK & Indian made GN's?
-
I'm loving the patterns in the wood, real character...
-
Jealous.
-
Nice looking stick.
-
I read the first set of writing as 2.10?
-
Lovely looking gn that is! Huge for the weight
-
I read the first set of writing as 2.10?
🤣 I wondered what those numbers meant.

Probably not, but isn't their halestorm and pro performance bats made in India?
-
Toe guard to me implies could be uk made
-
As you probably know I put out a post to see if there was anymore of these left in the country in a usable weight. I was lucky enough to find another one at 2lb 10.7 ozs.
This one appears to have a lot higher spine than my original Halestorm

Serious lumps of willow there!
2'10 on a bat that size.....insane :o
-
@Calzehbhoy Do you know the Spine Height? or can you? I'm looking at getting one made up.
-
Its about 68mm @Churchy1989 . Edges are around 46-47.
-
Where did this bat be come from @Calzehbhoy? Some lovely big bats been coming your way recently
-
Wow they both look great. Is there any performance difference between them?
I also decided to get one. I am waiting for it to turn up.
-
The new one only appeared at work today, it's been prepared in store but looks like it needs another coat of oil and a scuff sheet to finish off.
This one came from Owzat cricket @SOULMAN1012 . If I'm honest I kind of scatter gunned a load of UK retailers and these came back with one in stock.

@Calzehbhoy let me know if you decide to part with one at a later stage please
