Title: Concave shapes.
Post by: GJ on January 31, 2010, 03:49:36 PM
Whats the best method to get concave shapes on a bat? Ive tried with spokeshaves and i find them quite hard to use. Travishers, well the ones ive seen have been in the £70 range so wont go there! And have been on the look out for a round bottom plane for ages. Are there any other methods or easier tools i could use?

Travishers for £41.13 including VAT and postage. I would go for a number 6 travisher. I use my one all the time and it takes wood off easily and gives a nice shape. Once you get used to it, you will be fine.

Cheers for that Craig and Tom, £41 is a better price, but still quite pricey!
Seem to remember you had one for sale Tom?
