Would I be able to get a bat made for about 250$ US and have it shipped to NZ ? or should I get my budget a bit higher ?
-
It's possible around that price but it won't be a top grade bat.
Drop us a message if we can help you with anything specific.

I can make something up for you. Drop me a pm to discuss if you want

If you are in NZ, talk to Mart Graham of MG2 Cricket. He makes great bats.

950 NZ Dollars for a custom, by my maths thats about £525 (or just under 2 G1 Hunt's customs!) :o

^ MG2 Bosh-6 is the entry level bat for NZD490 which is right around USD 290+. OP's budget is USD 250.
When I ordered my bats with Marty, I got a small discount. I think OP's budget is achievable with MG2 cricket. In my experience, MG2 is one brand that never disappointed me. Marty's bats are that good!

Isn't that an off the shelf shape though?
I'm not overly familiar with MG2, so this isn't just me being pedantic.
An entry level bat for £270. That's still comfortably more than I've ever spent on a top end stick! :-[

^ Well, it is NZ and freight charges for willow are priced-in the bat cost. Same with Laver, their prices are pretty high. Importing a bat from UK/Sub-continent to NZ would also incur freight charges (plus customs duty) leveling the price to some extent.
You are in the UK and you have a lot of options hence the pricing.

^ I agree with @InternalTraining on the shipping costs. Recently i sent a bat to Australia for $63 USD with the cheapest US postal option.

Shipping from US to anywhere is always bloody expensive !!! When I wanted to return a bat to UK retailer the best option I could find was USPS at USD 87. Price of the bat was USD 200. Chose to use parcel monkey at USD 30 and the bat reached the seller after 4 weeks ...

I have a MG2 and Laver . Both are quite brilliant.
Got the MG2 second hand so didn't spend a lot of money on it. It is probably 3 years old now.
If I were to buy custom made from MG2 that would cost me 950NZD ( 525 Pounds)
Just going off the price from blankbats website, I could get a Pro grade for 355 Pounds ( 650NZD ) shipping included.

I have always had Lavers but tried Chase cricket. You won't be disappointed if you go with them. Good price too.
