(These quite often are £20 in a flash sale...)
I have to say I am really pleased with the results.
My last pair of spiked trainers lasted ages so I have high hopes for these.
-
There absolutely gorgeous
-
You can't beat having smart looking kit.
-
Convinced me to buy a pair. They look awesome, are they a comfy trainer?
-
I bought a pair of the trainers in a SD flash sale a while back really like them, so bought a second pair to spike up with a discount voucher.
There are a few good trainer options around at the moment other than these.

Saw the trainers in SD yesterday waiting for pay day! Think will get two pairs one for training on mats and one for games to get spiked. Do you just send the shoes out to them with a note or do you ring them first?
-
You can just send them with a note and payment, it takes about a week.
P.s. I wore them for the first time on Wednesday... had to field for four and a half hours in the heat.
The shoes were great... the rest of me was a mess when it came to batting!

Thanks for the review not too many trainers available at that price.

Tried the trainers did not feel comfortable on my feet at all. Anyone else got any other suggestions for reasonably priced trainers to spike? Has anyone tried an indoor footie trainer or a tennis shoe? Or is best to go with a standard training shoe?
-
Reckon these ones will be comfy and supportive, full leather http://www.sportsdirect.com/reebok-pheehan-4-leather-mens-trainers-120050?colcode=12005001 (http://www.sportsdirect.com/reebok-pheehan-4-leather-mens-trainers-120050?colcode=12005001)

Does anybody know if B & B are going strong and still spiking for the 2018 season?
-
Yes and yes...
-
Does anyone know how much they take off bottom as thinking of getting my Adidas boosts spiked
-
I know that the guys down at Somerset have done quite a few pairs of boosts, if you spoke to B&B I’m sure they would be happy to accommodate that if you asked
-
Sorry to bring up a old topic .. but has anyone had any spikes do done by Brian and Brenda in the last few months ?
-
No, although I can make an alternative recommendation if you're looking to get some done rather than wondering where yours are.
-
I had my last pair done at the shoe doctors m&h and they were decent and still going strong from 5 years ago
-
Have they ceased trading?
-
Have you tried calling them?
-
No will try tmw
-
Just sorting some trainers out, fyi.

I've ordered these, basketball shoes. Should give decent support for me trundling in and, of course, boost is life.
Will run them in at winter nets then send them for spiking

I live 5 mins from an Adidas outlet in the East Mids. Last week they had the Harden Boosts that Stokes wore in his famous innings on the ‘b grade’ shelf for £35, nothing wrong with them just no box. The big #13 on the heel put me of them though. Some real bargains on that shelf.

I had these boosts spiked by B&B. Great job and very comfortable.

What I would say with spiking trainers is this...
You want to get a good pair spiked. That means spending £50+ on the shoes. Plus £33+£3.50 postage to get them done means you are spending a minimum of nearly £90.
£90 buys you a lot of cricket specific shoe including the new balance, puma or adidas spikes.
-
I'd be tempted by this if I played on grass more often. @Buzz makes a good point, but I've always struggled to find cricket spikes that were properly comfortable. Payntr rubber spiked shoes are the best I've used so far and they're more like a trainer than a traditional cricket shoe so I can see the appeal in having a durable pair of trainers spiked up.
-
I used Cheshire Shoe Repairs for mine last season, excellent work and a good saving over Shoe Doctor, who also do a good job.

Hard to find these in white in the UK, have you found anywhere other than the adidas outlet?
-
While we taking about shoes/spikes. Are rubber spikes any good on field or/and they good while batting?
-
What is the round up of the spiking options?
Brian and Brenda the preferred one?
Do Owzat use B&B but just charge a touch more?
Shoe Doctor in Taunton also good?
I think I will try batting in a full spike this season but just use shorter spikes to get something between the grip of a normal spike and the Adidas Boost spikey rubber sole. I'm not a fan of batting in normal spikes as I drag my feet around a lot and feel a bit "stuck" with a normal full spike.
Yup know what you mean. I've started batting in boosts. But prefer normal trainers when dry (with no spikes).
Only bat in spike if muddy or soft.
-
How do you mark your guard when not wearing spikes? The Chanderpaul method?
-

Instead of having to change between spikes and normal trainers depending on whether wet/dry, isn't it better to just use rubber spikes that do the job for both conditions?
-
Also, i wonder why pros (batsmen) use spikes always, many of the wickets they bat on must be hard as road and i thought the harder the surface, harder it is to stand on spikes..

The wicket is rock hard but the rest of the square will be watered far more frequently than a club wicket so the spikes are needed to stop them from sliping when running off the strip.

Agree, the spikes help outside the pitch. But wondering if wicket is quite hard, wouldn't one find it quite inconvenient on the pitch itself, like say if you try walking with spikes on concrete - it is very difficult, so I assume similar feeling on such a pitch?

Well no not really because they arent actually walking on concrete are they, theres gonna be much more give in a pitch than concrete regardless of how hard the deck is

If it helps some of the numpties I play with run a bit faster in the field or between the wickets it would be money well spent.

Look like a pair of stilts!

It's like the 70's platform shoe all over again. Keep something long enough and it'll be back in vogue before you know it.
