Evening all,
Sadly at nets this evening we've had a casualty :(
I'd like some honest opinions on whether you feel I have a case with this at all - bare in mind it's been used in a total of 3 innings (for only 96 runs) and maybe 7/8 net sessions so barely had any usage really (only bought it April 21st!!). Obviously I'm a bit peeved that it's developed such a crack so early on, especially as the bat itself was a bit of a gun!!

Any thoughts??

I know toe damage often isn't covered in most manufacturers warranties due to it being a weak area, but given the age and extent of the damage I feel it's worth an ask at least. Gm seem to be good with customer service so worth trying them to see what they think of the damage and whether they'll offer a free repair/replacement. If not a repair could be done on it regardless I feel so either way it's not the end of the bat, just whether you'll get the repair for free or have to pay for the repair, or if they deem it replaceable then a new bat

Horrible when this happens to a new bat. It looks bad....but to someone who is used to these repairs may look worse than it is.
On the plus side, if there is one, GM I've found and team mates have found very very good with repairs. Certainly one of the best companies to deal with if things go wrong.
These new GM bats do look superb.
Straight back to GM with a polite letter if it was mine. Looks a bit dry in the photos, but maybe that's the trade off for larger profiles these days IMO.

your best bet might be eclipse all sport he is pretty good at this kind of stuff ?, he can work wonders , Was your mate bowling with cheap Balls ? looks like that kind of incident

Adam that's some damage do agree though due to the bat being only being 6 weeks old it's worth contacting GM they may give you a replacement can't see them repairing it due to how it's damage but yes it can be repaired but due to the amount of damage I can't see it being as good as it was prior to the damage.
Anyway here's hoping you get a replacement

Nope, all Dukes balls so certainly weren't cheap!
Cheers lads, I was thinking along the same lines anyway so will see how I get on. Just a bit frustrating more than anything with it being so new (on the plus side I've still got another 4 blades to pick from for Saturday... standard CBF!)

Contact the retailer, who will contact GM, their after sales is extremely good.
Not sure why the default response has been to reccomend non forum sponsors to carry out a repair when the bat is well within warranty, and even if it wasn't there are lots of forum sponsors very capable of repairs.
P.s all bats look dry when you peel the scuff sheet back...

Nope, pretty sure he wouldn't be a dealer for them anyway

I think he was referring to EAS and Hanifs repair service

Still a little confused as to why you would send a 6 week old bat to anyone other than the retailer/maker you got it from.
If it was puchased second hand then send it to Tom...obviously! But new, have a word with the retailer or GM - we have always found GM to be very fair and they do tend to be very decent chaps. ;)

That could possibly be storm damage.

Little update on this, GM are currently repairing the bat FOC - can't fault them at all, great service!
