2018 velocity 1200 and warner kaboom 2lb9.9oz
2017 xp80 2lb8oz

Kaboom is pretty epic balls fly off and make echoing thuds when they hit the back of the indoor nets.
velocity flys off too, but is easier to hit balls into the ground. likely because it doesnt have as large bow.

2016/17 season bat omega 950 - sample/show bat made by Stuart Kranzbuhler. Stores are shown these before they place their orders.

Thought it was pretty good, until tried the xp80 and other two. think it's a bit harder pressed, after giving it a hard additional knocking in it's going a lot better. The difference between the top grade bats is very noticeable tho, they trampoline off and sound different.

will figure out an easier way to insert images with higher res.. do the verification things stay in place for long?

No, players choice in the velocity range will be though.

Very nice setup. Were you able to look at the Velocity XL range and how they compare to the XP80's?

Also if you're in Aus, how is the Atomic range looking? Is it anything like the GCC video or less extreme?

I think the 50+ replacement is available in shops now, local cricket shop has the velocity "players choice" . It could be different tho, the velocity 1200 isn't that similar to the xp70. https://www.kilbirniesports.co.nz/collections/cricket/products/gray-nicolls-velocity-players-choice-bat (https://www.kilbirniesports.co.nz/collections/cricket/products/gray-nicolls-velocity-players-choice-bat)

GN sells some direct on an auction site during the off season.. this 50+ went for $355 or around 190 GBP.

XP80 would possibly be my pick out of them all, feels super light and has a good bow.

Got them direct from gn nz, didn't get to see them before or checkout the other new bats. I'll have to have a look next time I'm in town sports shop. It may be possible to order from gn and have them sent overseas, they're not a retail shop and only take cc, bats are in a warehouse so can't send photos of bats& possibly don't have much spare time to research and answer
 questions.

If you think the velocity1200 is the bomb , then the xl2000 is going to blow you away , save your pennies , you wont be disappointed

Pretty sure won't be buying too many more bats anytime soon, fiancé/expenditure approver let me buy a nb1080 le as the fourth "last one". Already going to difficult to choose which one to take into the middle... Maybe end of season sale next year if they don't all make it through in one piece.
Really like the xp80 bow, pickup, and thinner handle over the v1200. The willow in all the top gn bats is super trampoline bounce, they all hit the ball crazy well just slight weight/pickup differences. The knot looking things on the upper parts of the blades ping off more than the rest of the bat. Was difficult to knock them in, the mallet rebounded and wanted to fly out of my hand, kaboom was even harder as it's too big to hold the blade in one hand.

Talking to kingsgrove and gccc recently and both said they don't know if the 17/18 stock will include a velocity xl in the current pictured ( similar to xp80 ) shape . I really want to find out because I'd divert some savings for one , thats for sure.....fingers crossed they proceed with it .

Looking on their site there's 4 upper grade velocity bats :players choice , 1200, xl1500, xl2000 . The xl's look exactly like the ones posted on the forum recently ( ie like the xp80 shape) . So it seems that its official and an xp80 like oversize bat will indeed be part of the 17/18 range .Oh no..... there goes another $800 . I'm so happy i could cry . I'm also worried for my future finances !  ;)

When do these new bats become available? Just found out I may have work in Brisbane and the temptation for an Aus bat is as huge as their profiles :)

Just read a post from @skip1973 and maybe i jumped the gun . The velocityxl is on their ( g.n's) website in the xp80-like shape . Cricket warehouse have pics of the same shape and 'arriving late July'. But gccc and kingsgrove couldn't say either way until they get stock in . Skip1973 says they will be changed to conform ..... I'm going through a roller-coaster of emotions here ! Aaaaaarrrggggghhhhh .

Aren't you selling the 1080 LE @prim0pyr0 ?

Being in NZ myself We could possibly do some trading??  ;)

I think you were selling a GM too, I was asking some questions about it.

Not me! it's my favorite bat for normal hitting, comes off better than xp80 and also better pickup. Was a bit risky not being able to choose a weight(they're not labelled at all) and ordering online, but 50% off sale was pretty good.

Think that guy on trade-me buys other peoples trademe bats or picks up on sale bats and then on sells them quite frequently. He had a UK GN legend, and other sets of kit with bag/pads/bats.

Looking at that online stockist website(and reviews) intriguing to see their facebook page of nice bats and low prices.
