Post by: Howzat on February 01, 2010, 04:04:03 PM: Am going to be buying a Salix Fera Performance very soon but have seen several versions online and wondering if someone can clear up the discrepancy... Is the top image the 2010 version and the bottom the 2009?
I much prefer the 2009 stickers...

Also the middle seems very high on the bat. Not sure if it is a good idea. Most of the stock pictures are of heavy bats as they help in projecting/picturing the profile better.

Post by: SillyShilly on February 01, 2010, 04:18:50 PM: Tim Keeley of Newbery and Andrew Kember of Salix were both apprentices of John Newbery (Tim being the most highly regarded) - i'd imagine this is were the link ends, many brands will have similar looking stickers - coincidence more than anything i'd imagine.

Leo - would advise going for another brand, Salix are over-priced and not all bats are made in the UK :)

Post by: Howzat on February 01, 2010, 04:22:49 PM: Thanks Silly S but they were the bats that most impressed me in Romida, the finishing was amazing. Am getting it for trade price which is £130 so not that bad, Ill sell it on if I dont like it.
Incidently whilst at Romida I sold a guy a Ti grill in the car park, saw he was about to buy a £80 masuri ti grill ;)

Cant complain at that price - go for it mate, just didnt want to see you shell out £200+ thats all.
