Title: Another B3 belter!
Post by: fzrkev on June 27, 2017, 04:56:03 PM
First off, a big thank you to David and Tom for sorting me out and the factory tour. Very impressive setup you have there and i hope you continue to grow the business. You deserve the success!

Anyways, to the blade.

It's a modified Tonto. Lower offset edges, raised and elongated spine and thickened toe, all made from a 355 (i think) crown.

Specs.

Edges - 40mm
Spine - 69mm
Toe - 28mm
Weight - 2lb 7.3

It is. :) It was my 40th this month, so along with a little cash i had set aside, any gifts were cash with the full intention of buying myself a once in a lifetime bat. I couldn't afford or justify it otherwise.

Can't beat a Tonto - great shape Dave designed

Not the best looking Tonto you'll ever see....

Yup, credit to Dave also! Chose the cleft myself so can't really complain. It was the nicest crown there and to be fair, I've seen worse costing faaaaar more. I was tempted by your short blade approach, but I've never tried one so was a bit of a risk.

I agree. Think we've been spoilt by some of the crowns over the year.

This is my Tonto (middle bat)

Should've gone for the shorter blade/longer handle option, after 1/2 games/nets you don't notice a difference.

That's a nice swell! I only moved the edges as our pitches tend to be puddings, so elongating the middle a bit was a high priority.

Did you get it without stickers to keep the weight down?

got to love a few of my old bats.

Thats no Ceat bat either it a bloody good Bas with a pick up almost unrivaled in my eyes for a lets say lowish middle

Updates...
After a bit of knocking in, i can confirm this has a pleasantly long middle and actually extends quite low down. Lower than i was expecting. As usual, the ping is excellent.
