So, for the first time in my career, I got to witness a Screaming Cat.
The Rotary club had a touring team over from Australia and we've hosted them for a couple of days as they spent time in York/Whitby. A number of gents and ladies came on their tour, starting in Scotland before making their way down to York before they move on to Leicester and Essex.
One of the younger ones on their team came out with this beauty and it flies. Without much effort, he struck the ball clean and it very much stayed hit. Was a joy to watch.

My club (Rothley Park CC) are hosting these guys next week for a game - might have to pop down and 'volunteer' (aka perv on willow). Apparently they are staying at the Rothley Court hotel...made famous by Mike Gatting playing 'hide the sausage' with a local waitress

Look at the shape of that
Love the nice thick grains too
I would have made him a decent offer to buy that ha

Thank god this wasn't about what the title may have suggested. :( :o

I live in Whitby. Do you know if they played a friendly here or just called in for some fish & chips?!
-
Andy do you play for Whitby?
-
I play for a team called Mulgrave around 4 miles north of Whitby. I know all the Whitby lads though.

Nope. Didn't play, just did the tourist stuff. Goatland train, Whitby beach/etc.

They have a pack of kit that they used, and only the occasional bit of own stuff brought over. They're a good bunch of gents and nice to talk to, so if you can, I would recommend saying hello.
And they'd love the Gatting story.
