Unable to settle in London being away from partner and daughter, hope he can find a northern county to settle at and can enjoy the twilight years of his career, I'm sure derby would love him back!

Didnt think it was a good move to surrey , he was Looking Class at Derby , I hope it goes well for whoever he goes to , would like to see him in England colours one day :)
-
That was quick! Just googled him to see the headlines. 1 hour ago official press release for him leaving published. 55 minutes ago BBC report him joining Notts!
-
Fletcher at Notts out for the season , thankfully seems a precaution more than anything, opened up a spot it seems.
So makes sense. He is a good bowler and if he's closer to his family it works for everyone . Good to see Alec Stewart putting the player first as well.
-
12th man duties in the one-dayers can't have helped with his homesickness.
-
First Ansari, then Footitt. Added with Sanga retiring, who wants to leave us next?
-
For Surrey fans hopefully Dernback...so not too great a loss. not just because of the football superstar tattoos but most definitely because of the posturing and self importance.
In contrast sangakara recently quoted on his retirement as saying 'as cricketers we are never as good as we think we are'
-
I don't think Gareth Batty will be too far off retiring. His contract is up at the end of the season.

This is probably more accurately Sanga:
"As cricketers the biggest mistake we can make is to believe we are better than we really are."

Complete nonsense, very well respected in the dressing room and has been excellent in the development of the Currans. Been brilliant for us in recent years.
You're making assumptions purely on his tattoos and the fact he liked partying when he was younger.
-
I've never liked him much, but I do think he has matured in recent times.
-
Dernbach is not - and never was - international class. But you know what - he is massively underrated as a domestic cricketer.
-
And he never shirked as an international, whether he was good enough or not. While Broad and Anderson bowled the soft overs, Jade always fronted at the end. That he wasn't good enough should not underestimate his heart.
-
Batty touting Dernbach for the t20 captaincy when he retires!

Bar the over rate glitch he has captained very well when called upon, hes got a very astute cricket brain.
-
Agreed he was never international class but ended up being a scapegoat for quiet a few people when he played.
-
I actually think Dernbach was massively ahead of the curve with all his variations and if he was coming through now he would likely be a gun 20/20 bowler.
