I've seen these on morrants website, does anyone know anything about them and if they are actually worth the money?

I have used them for years ,excellent material, but fit a bit narrow, size up.
-
I think they're an American brand which was developed for use in Baseball or NFL. I haven't tried them though, I'm happy with my Aero shorts.
-
I like the idea of using Carbon Fibre tbh, it may be a bit of a gimmick but i like the idea
-
I have the carbon flex for cricket and the titanium cup for kickboxing. Swear by these guards been using them for years now.
-
Used for the past two seasons, i've got the carbon guard. Only been hit once and gave great protection think they do a titanium one too, the shorts are good quality too, even if the rubbery logo wears off after a few washes and uses.

I have them but I've not been hit in the appropriate place yet so can't comment on how effective they are!
-
used them, definitely recommend them.
-
Yeah I've used both the cup and shorts for last couple of years now. Cup is nice and strong but yet to be hit there yet to know how it feels.
Shorts are very good though very comfy logo's came off very quick like joey said but worth the money it's the first thing I put in my bag. Cup fits in the slot well aswell.

Hunts county carbon fibre box is much less.
-
Yep feels quite comfy and gives a peace of mind, fingers crossed won't ever get hit there though. :o
-
I had one. Plastic cracked. I found it very comfortable. Use the aero now
-
I've got the Carbon Fibre one, really comfortable and been hit once there, protection is excellent too.
-
Haven't used their cricket gear but I used their gumshields for American football and I don't think I've had THAT many concussions so, they're pretty good I guess?
-
I used them but I can't seem to find the shorts sold separwly now they need replacing so am migrating to the aero trunks 👍
-
Have used them for years and on 3rd pair
Great shorts for those of us with larger thighs that get rugby players thigh
-
Bought a carbon flex box. I thought it must have been kids size , but it was mens . Way too small. Threw it away and went back to my aero . Pity , liked the idea of carbon fibre.

Normally the boasting on here is reserved for bats ;-)
-
I bought a ShockDr box in the US years ago (over 12) it is my longest serving bit of kit.

I thought (after posting) that it may be interpreted that way . But just trying to warn that the 'cup' volume is a lot smaller than an aero box . If you're used to an aero and then buy one of these you'll notice how much smaller they are .

Can't see these on their website. Or on yours!
-
For what it may or may not be worth, I'd bet decent money that neither the Hunts nor the Shock Dr have any actual carbon fibre in them.

Not for the price they are flogging them at as my CF shells have gone up by 45% within the last 12 months too.

You only have to look at the pictures to see it's a printed design.
Its only got the weave going one way.
-
not on that particular site but i use the Titanium Alloy Shock Doctor. After a nasty incident involving a Gray nic Test protector cracking and injuring the tackle quite bad, spent the coin and got the titanium one and was the best investment. Comfortable and no incidents. It wasnt cheap (about $35 AUD ) but really small price to pay. Been using it for 3 years without any issues

I think this is a case where we can excuse the "pics or it never happened" rule... :o

To shock doctors credit they don't claim anywhere that is actually made from carbon fibre (called carbon flex), and the metal version doesn't claim to be made from titanium (its stainless steel and called Titan Alloy) just trick marketing i suppose to make you think of those materials.

That is absolutely not to shock doctor's credit... Can't stand this kind of thing personally, the worst kind of marketing.

Fair enough, wasn't putting out an opinion on it just point out people, me included, refer to them as carbon fibre and titanium but they're not advertised as such.

Not a medical doctor at least...if he was pretty sure we know what his speciality would be

Perhaps the the doctor of shock is related to the s.a wicketkeeper ? ..... Dr de Kock ?

I am not an expert, but I checked carbon flex box (and my son's) and they look like the real thing to me and not a plastic print.
Although I am surprised these haven't had a mention yet...

I have used Shock doctor and Nutty Buddy (both top class American Baseball products) and both are good for cricket. Nutty buddy provides a better impact protection & there are Sportscience Youtube videos of people demonstrating it by taking a 90mph hit 'there' from a meger 5-6 feet (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV831oPwG8M (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV831oPwG8M)) but it certainly takes time to get used to it - also I have realized that one needs to order one size bigger than nutty buddy's recommended sizechart.
