Title: Competition Winner
Post by: Calzehbhoy on August 15, 2017, 10:20:08 AM
I noticed that The Cricket Shed were running a competition on social media to win a RS Pro Edition bat as 1st Prize and Pads/Gloves as 2nd and 3rd.

Had a notification to say that I have won first prize this morning!!

Gone for this one - http://www.thecricketshed.com/product-p/rspep-4.htm (http://www.thecricketshed.com/product-p/rspep-4.htm)

Will of course post pics when it arrives.

Bat arrived at work today, first impressions are very similar bat to my other RS Pro's with excellent finishing and decent pickup/balance.

Big thank you to the guys at The Cricket Shed for this freebie :)

That's a nice looking bat!  :D

Even better when you consider you won it!

What does it tap up like?

A free bat? Feels like Christmas!!  :D

Now we need a review @Calzehbhoy

To be honest other than swinging it around and taking a few pics it's sat in it's packaging in my office. It's a little heavy for me on pickup so haven't felt the desire to give it more attention yet.

I'm due back in hopefully tomorrow afternoon so will tap a ball up then, if it's anything like my current RS bats it will ping nicely.

Haha! That it did, have to admit I was suprised when I won and then even more surprised when it actually turned up! Will look at doing some sort of review on it when I get some time.

I used my RS in a game for the first time at the weekend.
40 odd not out before the rain came.
Really impressed.
Balance is great, middle tremendous and forgiving.
I'm sure a free one is going to be even sweeter

Totally agree. I gave my RS net bat to somebody the other week and after they hit a pretty quickfire 30 he came back telling me how nice a bat it was. They really do make a decent bat!

They look like very nice bats. Are their prices still as low as they used to be or have they raised their prices?

Call me a sceptic but...

Is this just a cover up story for a purchase to appease the missus? :D

It looks lovely, what weight is it? I reckon pick up would improve if you change the grip set up to your liking, do you normally use octopus grips?

think all indian brand prices will be going up - due to the new Goods and Services Tax in India... came into effect in July...

Uk vat and Oz gst are exempt to overseas purchasers , i  would have thought the same would apply to Indias gst ?

Doesn't work the same way I'm afraid - we'll likely see a distinct rise in prices from India over the following year or so I should think (to put it into perspective, the GST rate on bags is 28%...)

The GST rate varies highly by product, as far as I'm aware the bags are an extreme example thankfully.

This could be a leveller of sorts for uk and oz brands within their own markets .

Well, I just wish OZ bats, especially Kranzies, were cheaper. I understand that you get what you pay for but I feel that all bats should be made the way Kranzies are made.

Getting my next 'Kranzie' in 4-6wks ..... you'll be the first to hear about it when i do. It doesn't even have (too) thin a toe !  :D Oh , and it has a decent bow too .  :)
