Ok fellas - This is part 1 of Screaming Cats reviews.
I would call part 1 review the "photo review", as it will contain mostly just photos plus a few details about the bat(s)!
The 2nd part will be a "performance review", which will follow alot later! In the case of the Premium Screaming Cat, the 2nd review will only take place once the bat's been knocked in and used in the nets, or in a match!
So here we go with Part 1:
Screaming Cat Professional
Managed to get this bat second hand. Condition was a few light surface cracks, but nothing major! Sent it away to Salix for a refurb - they said the cracks were not that bad, and they could either get into the cracks, and do complete repairs which would ensure the life of the bat but would mean performance level would not be quite as high as it was. OR he could simply add some surface bond and a decent face sheet and it may not last quite as long but performance would not be affected!! So just had to be the second option, as there's no point in getting a Screaming Cat Professional unless you are gonna use it the way it's meant to be used!!
Have used it a few times in the nets, and it is a superb bat! It is light, perfectly balanced, and dare I say....professional ping!! It weighs in at a spritely 2lb 8oz, and it really does feel as though I could bat all day in a match just wish I could bat well enough to bat all day!
Screaming Cat Premium
Not too much to say about the bat yet again a feather-like 2lb 8oz. Both this bat and the Professional look reasonably sized for the weight. The willow has some butterfly marks but I am sure it will still go like an absolute train once its fully knocked in! Have only given it a little knock with the ping-o-meter mallet so far, and it feels very good 8 out of 10. But I get the feeling that this ping-o-meter score will increase considerably after 4 hours with the mallet!
Hope you all enjoy the photos

Cheers for the comments chaps - JM really does make superb bats, even if they are a tad expensive at the mo!!
-
Absolutely superb bats that have got a absolutely superb review!
-
I do like the profile on those bats.
What do Screaming cats play like in terms of feel?
Do you have to hit the ball in the middle with the quite high ridge or are they quite forgiving.
It looks like they have got a really good balance, but you never know. Also everyone always says on here that anything to do with Screaming cats is amazing.
In that case why does anyone sell them second hand?
I think they are beautiful bats, but would look forward to a review that says a bit more about how they play up and down the bat and gives a more balanced idea of what it would be like to use one.
Other than that . top work Pete. Yours really spoiling yourself with these lovely bats! Very Jealous
-
Wow. They look superb. Screaming Cats are really Screaming
-
Yet more beauties Pete, and nice to see the return of the rug!!
-
and the faintly sordid lighting ... ;)
bootiful, mr hosk, bootiful
-
THAT PREMIUM IS BEAUTIFUL! thank you pete..it will look very nice in my kitbag this year!
-
Fantastic bats, fantasitcally awful stickers - great review again Pete!
-
It wasn't a full review but I made up for it with lots of photos for everyone to look at!
The stickers are kind of aweful, but kind of nice too! They are almost kind of retro in the blue and orange colours used on their design!
But you get used to the stickers quickly as they grow on you.
And Steelcouch - the bats feel really nice and beautifully balanced!
Have only used the Professional and it is forgiving. The middle is not small, so if you get it anywhere near, then it tends to come off the bat really well. And being light bat, it means that you can use more bat speed if need be. Although it is responsive whatever stroke I play, so am impressed with it so far!!
I would certainly recommend these bats as the quality is as you would expect from JM!! The guy knows how to make a bat - of that there's absolutely no doubt! The only bad thing is the exchange rate, so you need a large budget to buy one!
And I'm not sure that I have seen too many of these second hand?? If you have, then please let me know where, as I will take a look! :)
-
Has Christianpurchase99 bought it off you Pete?
-
He traded the Pemium off me! He offered such an extreme amount of gear that I thought I would accept!
And it's not as though I don't have other top end bats that I can use instead!!
I will call Christian 'The Godfather' from now on, as he "made me an offer I couldn't refuse!" ;D
-
They are sensational, stickers not so, new ones are a lot better.
Surprised that you're parting with the premium!!
-
And some of the Premium!
your toys in the bckground pete! iv pm'ed u bud
-
godfather? i like it!
-
GJ - as I said, Cp offered ALOT for the Scat premium. And it's not as though I don't have some ultra-quality bats left. And still have the Professional Scat to use!
Finisher - not my toys. But my sons toys fella! We have to provide boxes like that otherwise they end up everywhere! :D
My toys are my bats!!
And anyway - one of the conditions of the trade is that I receive all the gear before I send the Premium. I would be stupid to take any risk on that bat - so I'm just looking after it until its traded.
-
shrewd business pete i had a screaming cat from Auss a couple of seasons ago i think it was the green one (grade3) perpetual player i think was a gun but only lasted 6 matches but hey was a beast for that
-
The Professional is a gun. And the Premium will go like a train as well..... but he will have to knock it in properly otherwise it wont last!
Its not even about being shrewd really fella! Its more about not taking any chances with it.
-

If its anything like my bat i am still waiting for from cp, you will have your gear around xmas time!
-
True fella - that's another reason I'm holding onto it!
So the trade may not even happen!
But if it happens, then will save me having to knock the bat in!
But will be more than happy to keep it otherwise!
-
Yeah I know what you mean mate, I have been waiting 4 weeks now for a bat I did a trade with him for! And the scat pictured above looks really good, i think the stickers look excellent as well, almost retro looking but i dont know why. I wouldnt be upset if kept that bat for myself either ;)
-
The retro look is that shade of blue and orange chap.
I am still to receive a couple of items from cp too! But I am giving it until the end of this week before I start to get annoyed!
But he's had a couple of weeks, and I think that's enough time.
