New move from GM, following Gray Nicolls and now offering their range direct on their website. Higher margins, but does it make life more difficult for the independents?

not sure the retailers are happy ? , but i can understand the move considering the increase in cost with the current market , there margins will be huge , just had a look , looks like there actually a bit more expensive than some retailers , i can see more of the big companies selling direct in the future

Of course they are more expensive, any big brand that sells direct will sell at RRP, you will struggle to find many retailers selling at RRP.
GN have sold direct for a while now but I can't say its made much of a difference to us. The only time when it is arguably better price wise for the customer is during an end of season sale where they can discount down to the sort of pricing they would have sold to retailers at.

Such a move will probably impact those who rank higher up Google, but have little relationship with their customers. Cricket Direct and Pro Direct, for instance.
