Title: 2018 Overseas Player
Post by: Andythomo21 on September 10, 2017, 03:12:43 PM
Hi Guys,

Early I know, but just putting out some feelers for an overseas player for next season?

We have just got promoted to the Readers Beckett Premier Division in the Scarborough area of North Yorkshire and i'd say 6/7 of the current 12 Premier Division Teams have an overseas player.

We have a lovely new ground and pavillion which has reached its 10th anniversary this season.  We are also hold the ECB Clubmark and are a Yorkshire Cricket Board Focus Club.

We are based in the village of Lythe, 4 miles north of the desirable and popular seaside tourist town of Whitby.

We have a good young team, but due to the attacking nature of many of our batsmen, I'd say we're ideally looking for an opening batsman who can perhaps bowl some spin?  Any interested party's will be considered though.

We can offer free accommodation and work for the summer for anybody interested?

Thanks,

Andy.

Hi Andy

Take a look on cricketer exchange (google it)
Players from all over the world will write up a little profile and you can message them. You do have to pay to be able to message (though we just find the lad son social media).
We got our overseas amateur from this season off there. An Aussie who plays sub district in Melbounre so good standard. He was a level 3 coach who was taking a 6 month sabbatical from work. He paid for his own flight and we put him up and paid him a weekly playing / coaching fee.
He had a good return over 500 runs in all comps and lead the training for both juniors and seniors.

We are using the same again for our overseas.

We’ve just been offered a deal from a local Spa Hotel which will hopefully
help us greatly in getting our first amateur overseas player this year?

They’ve offered a job as grass cutter for their hotel grounds (40 hours per week),
with accommodation.  Also agreed to plan work rota around matches & coaching sessions
so hopefully this gives us a good head start?
