Pretty sure i'll be in Birmingham next week, anyone know what equipment they have there and the prices?
-
I believe this is the old UZI Sports shop in Birmingham that's attached to a netting facility.
I visited when they had a lot of old stock and the shop wasn't in operation - around the start of this summer, there was a lot of Kashmir and Asian made bats. Personally, I wouldn't bother if you're looking to make a specific journey. Boundary Sports (just outside of Bham), is probably the best cricket retailer around Birmingham.
-
He might mean the nets themselves, which were pretty good when we used them a year or so ago - the rest of it was a bit like a community centre, but in a good way, it was nice and friendly.
Plus the surface did a bit too!!
-
All of it really. Need to keep myself occupied somehow
-
You could nip over to Hawk not far from the city down the Hagley Road quite a nice location and set up.
-
V Sports are in Coventry which isn't far away
-
Boundary Sports is close by too, got a decent selection in and a net area
-
They have a net? It looks like a house! 😂
-
I was at forward drive last night, can confirm only kashmer stuff. Not heard of most of the brands
-
Hawk and v sports would be a decent option for shopping. Wouldn’t encourage boundary sports. They must have made significant changes if they have a net at boundary now.

Pretty sure they don't have a net at Boundary - I live just down the road from there. Whilst I agree that Boundary Sports isn't the best, it doesn't have the best reputation - however they do offer a fairly wide range of kit (well they did the last time I went in there towards the start of this summer).
-
Certainly a lack of cricket retailers in the Birmingham area. Boundary sports are ok with wide range, although largely Asian brands last time I went. As others have said Hawk is well worth a visit. Great handmade bats and nice softs. They happy to let you look round their set up

What are the nets like? And whats the going rate for using one?

Good mate, they got indoor leagues at the min on tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so it might be tough. £20 a net, more for bowlibg machine and a bit more for a coach
-
Ill be going during the day if anything but sound reasonable
-
I visit these nets reasonably regularly, once a week, can confirm they are run by great lads and the facilities themselves are more than reasonable especially for the price. If you want to pay a bit more the indoor cricket centre at Edgbaston is impressive albeit more expensive and availability is never good. Never used the shop at Forward Drive sadly

😂😂 is this you Jack??? The BCFC gave it away for me.... it’s Mark, Jim’s mate. Told you we’d beat Wolves the other Saturday 😂
-
Haha yes it is mate :) Was just speaking to Duffill actually and noticed a post where you commented about Ashorne so it all clicked! Small world.
Yeah you did tell me you'd beat Wolves and I gave you no chance. Fair cop. Think the next two results were a truer reflection about where you are though rather than a big performance in your cup final ;)
