Title: Concaving in the edges
Post by: Sitonit on December 16, 2017, 11:26:06 PM

I think I sort of notice this before and I am still not sure but is it been around for a while or is it a new concept?
It's hard to judge from the pics but look at Mitch Marsh's bat on the left, looks to have Puma stickers: is there a subtle dip in the edge to create a concaving in an attempt to achieve lower weight, better balance etc?

I dont see it. I doubt it weighs anything over 2.9 looking at the shape though

I think it is the edge tape and heartwood/grain color that is creating that effect.

You certainly wouldn't concave an edge to a point on the front edge corners. Any edges you got would take the corners off the bat.
