Title: Visiting a Bat Maker
Post by: GJ on February 07, 2010, 07:02:27 PM
Is there anywhere that offers this service of going and visiting their workshop and watch it being made. Ive tried a few small companies in the past but not very useful.
Reason i ask as i'm keen to give it a go and would be useful to go to a bat maker and get tips and pointers in where you could improve. Plus they would be there while you make, instead of communication on the net.
I think Tom said he did this with Fusion a while back???

Go and see Matt H4L, nice guy, and great little set up!

The guys at Hunts are nice too, and happy to spend time chatting bats, as are newbery in sussex.

Gunn and Moore are very secretive and will not let you in their factory unless you have a very good reason to go in, Hunts County are more freindly, they have a showroom where you can chat to a couple of guys and then the workshop through the back is where you can find Tony the batmaker listening to his power ballards! very nice blokes who are easy to talk to about cricket or otherwise
