Hi everyone thought I'd start topic for photos of how people strap up there Strettons. Appreciate there similar topics but most of the photos now don't load. ill post how i do mine when I'm home my new year but below is screenshot of the design i went for. Really happy with the look and protection added a hip protector, find getting pinned flush on the hip bone nearly as painful as one in the crown jewels.

I strap mine in the usual fashion, one long band around the waist and then one each around both thighs..... I didn’t realise there was an art to this strapping?
Did you change the shape or get the standard stock shape?
-
From memory think my shape was the usual mens size but with the extra hip protector.
-
Usually one acros the top. The X strap on the inner thigh and 2 on the outer thigh
-
How did you get hold of extra straps just ask George or can you find them online?

Just ask George

I was expecting a few gratuitous 'meaty man-thigh' shots on this thread
(That includes you Eeyore!)
-
That was what i was hoping for too. You can get one of mine when I'm back from the North although mine aren't meaty!
-
Got extra straps from George
I use long bands on both pads as easier
-
No straps ! Just use them under compression tights/shorts .
-
I was going to do that as well, because faffing about with the straps takes a while. But it kind of defeats the point of having compression leggings in the first place.

I dont find it defeats the point at all ( unless your point is to have a layer of clothing between your thigh pad and thigh to avoid sweat buildup ). Your thigh is just as compressed as usual .

I can confirm with strettons on top of compression shorts the straps slip all over the place.

I have SKINS compression leggings which are constructed to wrap around and support specific muscles. Shoving thighguards between them and the muscles they're meant to support means they can't do their job that well. Might be different with other brands though.
-
I bent them to fit me, so they barely move without straps..
I then strap them as normal. One round the top and through the inners loop. One each at the bottom. No extras or x straps and they don't move
-
I always wear compressions and don’t find any hassle with Stretton a on top

I have skins too . the compression is unaffected. Tried to help .....

Ok. Good to hear. I may give it a go, then. 👍

I,ve emailed George re more straps. But will have a play with the compression shorts failing that. I'll watch George's video again on how to shape properly.
-
I got some shock doctor shorts and they do the job well with no straps, bit longer than most compression shorts too.
So good I even bought a second pair.
-
Interesting question, I tend to strap them slightly differently every time I wear them. The standard waist strap, then the lower one on the thigh pad moves more. With the inner I find the X strap works nicely if its shaped well.
-
Is George still about, I've emailed him reference some new straps.
Thanks

He is just have to be a little patient with him took about a week to get back to my first email but once the conversation is going very responsive and easy to deal with. My new straps are on there way Ill post a pic of what George recommended for me when they arrive.

Thanks mate - he's a busy chap appreciate that.
Had a chat with him this morning so like wise - looking forward to the newer, thicker straps than the original set I have

So if I'm honest i was a little disappointed when i first got my Strettons didn't find them as comfortable and moveable as all the reviews i had seen on here suggested but i thought i would just persist for the season and hope that they would eventually mould to my legs but they didn't tried different strapping configurations tried re moulding them loads of times but nothing really worked. So after a few emails back and forth with George explaining the issues i was having he recommended a set of X straps and they worked wonders. I can now appreciate what everyone is on about they feel so much tighter and comfortable and easier to move about in...
