Title: Anyone willing to take an injured, unfit, uncoordinated player in the Midlands?
Post by: rockymoghal on January 05, 2018, 11:42:41 AM
Hello,

I am pretty sure I asked this question last year but unfortunately due to injury I was ruled out for the season. I am now fit (able to walk) and ready to find a team. I live in Coventry but I can reach Birmingham and the rest of the west midlands. I really just want a fun time and enjoy my cricket again. Any offers or suggestions would be brilliant. Thanks again

Should also add we have a thriving Sunday side and a midweek t20 league side that plays in and around Warwick

On Saturdays we play in the Cotswolds hills league there are some long drives but it’s well worth it!

As Alex has mentioned I also play for Ashorne and live in Coventry. There are numerous teams around Cov, nearly all in the Warwickshire league, but I moved teams 3 years ago and enjoy the CHL league much more.

We have a very picturesque ground with good facilities which we are always trying to improve and the club is a great bunch of lads. If you’re interested drop myself, Alex or Redders a PM - our nets are at Kenilworth Wardens and start on the 23rd Jan, you’re welcome to come along

My bro is involved at Barnt Green CC, I know their Saturday 3rds\4ths were on the look out for players last summer, they even asked me ( I live in Bristol and i'm cack).

Lovely ground, let me know if you'd like me to investigate, might be a trek for you.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I really wasn't expecting such a great response. Just shows how much of a friendly community this is. I will be going with Ashorne just because of travel ease otherwise everyone sounded like a great option. I wish everyone luck for nets and the season coming up.

I might join you at Ashorne, depending on how the job hunt goes!
I've decided I need a clean slate to start enjoying my cricket again.

An update on this .... @rockymoghal has been to nets and will be playing for Ashorne this season.

As skipper I’m really excited by this. Looks to be a great talent with bat and ball. We Just need to look after that knee.... 😂
