Title: Harry Brook's bat
Post by: Straight Bat Shot on January 26, 2018, 11:17:46 PM
Just watching Sky Sports and seen some of the earlier games in the ICC Under 19 World Cup and noticed this on a Kippax being used by England skipper Harry Brook - has it got something to do with sponsorship (rules in terms of NO branding on edges) or simply using a TON bat and put Kippax stickers on it..... like to hear the reasoning

I believe it's something to do with advertising. I think the newer Kippax bats no longer have the branding on the side.

So you believe it's Kippax's with some type of branding... I like the look of them grips - look thick, but not a crappy coil - anyone know what they are?

Looks the same as my Red Ink grips to me.

Yes. I think it's an older Kippax, maybe from late last year. We I visited to pick some up, some of the bats had the branding but the newer ones didn't. I think it's down to advertising regs. I'm sure Kippax will confirm one way or another when they spot this.

I think the grip is from a collosus.

Being an u19 he'll just get standard bats like us normal folk, he probably won't get the latest gear either so a sticker like this would make sense.

Just a marketing/branding issue. It’s an old kippax restickered. The  new ones don’t have the branding on the side so he’s had to cover it up

The grip is the standard Kippax grip...

I’ve been looking for a cheaper plain white version(GN & GetPaddedUp have versions with colour on the top) of them everywhere but they don’t seem to exist (apart from on a bat I got from @Chad ).

Just seen some of GetPaddedUp - they’re called Diamond, they also have the Kippax colours on top

sorry for the late reply this in one of our kippax colossus bats harry uses blue stickers with his county colour being blue it is a K one the edge of the bat but with the new rules you can only have the logo in the top 11 inches of the bat theses days but harry still using one of last years bats because he thinks its the best bat he has ever had.

What's your point? No mention of what he did wrong

There wasn't one. The article was about Brooks, as was this thread.

With the disciplinary issues in the senior squad of late it could well be a storm in a teacup

And it probably is - it certainly doesn't need wild conjecture from loose-cannons like you my lad!
