Chums, does anyone else get problems with cramp/fatigue in the forearms during an innings? Mainly in my right forearm as a right handed batter.
I tend to experience this problem every time I bat for a long period, which is definitely 100% to blame for my inability to convert 30s into 100s :D
I've considered the idea that I grip the bat too hard, or that I spend far too much time fiddling with my bat and gloves between balls. I've tried to limit the amount that I pick up and put down the bat when I'm not facing a delivery which seems to work a little bit.
My match bat is around 2'9 so it's not a weight issue, although it does come on quicker if I use a heavier bat. This is a shame as I love the feeling of using a heavy bat - I feel it comes down straighter and lets me drive much more powerfully.
I typically use a single grip on a regular handle, and I don't wear inners with my gloves.
Anyway, suggestions welcomed.

Owais Shah suffered(ed) a lot with this, to do with gripping the bat too hard I believe. In his case anyway.

It's probably just down to muscle tightness, I get it after a long break of not batting. Try this https://www.instagram.com/p/Bczjmbil7KW/ (https://www.instagram.com/p/Bczjmbil7KW/)

Not sure why your right hand would get cramp, you might need to look at your grip.

I have this issue if I use a bat with a thin handle. When I put a half grip on the bottom handle problem solved

Simple resolution - don't bat for long enough to get fatigued... ;)

Do you cock up your wrist when you are raising your bat for your bat swing?
How are you placing your thumb-forefinger when holding the bat?
If you are exaggerating your bat movement up and waving it (up and down) like Johnny Bairstow, it will tire your forearm.
If you are holding your bat in a thumb-forefinger ring, instead of a pinch, then you'd feel pain in the forearm after a long inning.
Daily wrist curls with a dumbbell would remedy the situation though.
