There could be a common case of Screaming Cat for quite a few bat enthusiasts, but for me personally, there was a bat on EBay, it was custom made by V Sports. The profile was a true masterclass and I missed out on placing the winning bid due to being away.
Do you guys have any unfulfilled fantasy of a bat that you can't get it anymore, and you wish if you had bought it right then?
-
There was a GM Epic in romida a few years back that was lovely, I also liked the Argon shape that year.
-
Oooh, I have a few.
From Ye Olden Days:
An SS Turbo Grand Prix 333. My Dad bought me a Surridge as my first full size bat, but not that one.
A top of the range Open Championship.
More Recently:
A really huge Aussie GN long blade.
And, much as I sometimes criticised them, a GM Icon, the profile they had the very first year.
-
The Hick era V600, there's been the odd one on eBay but always lowe end models and in poor condition.

Oh Yessss !!
That GM Icon in the very first year. What a beauty was that. Always wanted one.

I had one of these in the Ultimate grade from 3D Sports. It was brilliant.
I worked a summer cleaning a bakery to get that bat, and boy it was worth it.

This one wasn’t too bad. 5 star was decent model back then. A few dings but condition not too bad at all.

When I was a young lad and was poor... :(
... I borrowed a Kook Ridgeback from a teammate... absolutely flew... and when visiting Pakistan... still as a poor kid... saw an SS Turbo... was too young to hold it but the stickers appealed...
My father ended up buying me a MIDS bat (tape ball bat) and a hooky GM Maestro instead which was more than likely Kashmir willow...
Then MIDS disappeared as a brand for ages until recently... not keen on the bats but want to get hold of some MIDS stickers... so if anyone can get me decent MIDS stickers... holla you would make me happy...
So the Ridgeback and SS just for sentimental reasons... and hooky MIDS stickers :)
-
Screaming Cat. I would love to get one.
@Kippax Kippax's old JokerPlus, if that's what it is called.
-
i think this falls into a few categories -
1. Retro / Sentimental - the bat you would love to get for those reasons
2. Expensive - the bat you just would love to get but costs to much
So mine....
1. Kook Gold Crown - i idolized Graham Thorpe in my early years of playing and so wanted that bat
2. L&W - a proper top grade from NZ
-
A SS pro issue made for Afghanistan wicket keeper Afzal Zazai that I saw on a recent trip to Mumbai. Perfect 12 grains and ping was different from anything else in the store. It felt soft pressed but the mallet wasnt leaving any dents. Pro willow is of just a diffetent quality!

2005 gm purist original le
2005 gm maxi original le
More recently I’ve developed a soft spot for the proper power blow (Strauss 2005) saw one cook used in the lords museum this weekend that looked lovely!

I strongly considered that one, but the photos looked like they were taken with a toaster so It was hard to see what it looked like.

Yeah, this is an interesting one.
There was a time when you had the bat available for sale, but no money in the pocket.
And then was a time when you have the money, but no bat.
Perhaps same goes with candy bars. When you were kid, you didn't have money to buy all the candies - and now when you have the money, the doctor says, you are about to get diabetes so don't even look at candies.

A custommade at Robertsbridge legend.
-
A salix custom made for me which had a pressing crack 😢 not noticed until last second. I had driven four hours there and four hours back and an hour locating it!

You have a beautiful CA though... 🤭
-
Laver signature from here years ago Jon Pinson bought and then threatened to chop in half....
-
Hitman - stock only pros use... Then realised g5 stickered up blanks from pakistan
-
A GM Catalyst Original - would have been around 10 years ago. Opted for the Hero instead but secretly wished I'd gone for the catalyst a little later because Marcus Trescothick used to use one and I loved the colour.
The Hero was quality too though.
-
GM Purist I would say as a huge Micheal Vaughan fan it would have to be that
-
One more - a very specific one. A v100 with grains that formed an X right in the sweet spot.
-
Screaming cat. A shame we cant get one these days and Julian's plan to continue his legacy did not materialize..

Very fond child-hood memories of these stickers, colors and design - I bought my first ever batting gloves in mitten shape, made by St. Peter's.
-
It would be a Slazenger WG for me.
Closely followed by Duncan Fearnley Attack, Slazenger V12, SS Jumbo, Newbery Excalibur
-

I had forgotten that bat, wasn't big for the weight or anything but those grains were perfection instead of number, spacing and definition.
-
It's a shame that owning it never cheered Jon up!
-
The only one that comes to mind that iv never owned yet is a rob Pack

Used to belong to Pete I believe, and now in my possession. I know Tom isn't flavour of the month here now but it's a superb bat, and was very well refurbed.
-
I believe it was that one! Those grains are superb! Very nice bat :D
-
Not quite as good as Pete's tremendous scat but I always knew I had good taste! It is lovely
-
Wasted on me probably - was my weapon of choice last season, it definitely still goes and can't really blame it for having a rubbish season.

Today I was sent this photo by the seller. He says the bat box cost 1 pound from Morrants.

It gets better. It turns out a mate of his has very good contacts with D&P so the Blade was hand picked. Nice stickers on the little used Uzi too.
-
Surely got to be a carbon fibre Kahuna!

These arrived today. Could do with a bit of a clean up and a bit of oil but I'm very happy with them. The Uzi seems surprisingly hard pressed but I'm guessing it could just still need knocking/playing in.
They both have very nice rebound, especially for their weights.
Any idea where I can get a Cadbury colour grip from?
