All over the headlines in India since a few days. Looks like he wanted to divorce her since a while but she would not agree. His career looks screwed, won't be back in team atleast for a few months till the matter dies down.

Don't quote me on this but I heard from a friend(Indian) that divorces in India mean the woman ends up with all the assets accumulated. Obviously Shami has claimed his wife is deranged or something along those lines. I don't condone violence to women in any form.

But it will be disappointing to see Shami miss the tour of England. His stats are pretty impressive considering his home matches offer very little for seam

Legally woman is entitled to money enough to lead a decent respectable life standards not all the assets (up to half the assets I believe) . There was once a case of a rich wife asking for a lot of money in divorce but court ruled against saying she should get money to lead a decent life not necessarily a lavish life she's used to currently.
