Basically I've not played in many years, had a spinal issue. Anyhow I was clearing out the loft and came across my cricket kit. Dug out the willow, they still look decent enough but they've been up there for many years. Will they still be good enough to have a hit with?

after a sand and re-oil im sure they will still have some life left in em, as long as you kept them away from moisture.....
i recently found a GN powerbow that I bought 15 years ago. tried it out in a training session and it still comes off awesome!

Just to add if you are going to use it might be worth knocking the bat in.

Having not played in ten years I dug out my old kit and an MRF which was my last bat, still feels great (even though its de-laminated in the middle).

I used my trusty RPC custom on Saturday. Having had it made for me in 2012 I retired it a couple of years ago due to it having seen me get a fair few runs over the years and I felt it had died... Saturday.... GUN again! Possible re-handle and refurb and sticking it in the bag again!!

Some can - but its usually a question of how they have been looked after in the meantime rather than any mystical quality or otherwise of the willow!

My mate kept his bat in the loft for 15 years, started playing again and the thing pinged like there was no tommorow
So I would recommend drying it to an inch of its life it’s got to work
Sadly in the 15 years without playing he lost his ability pretty much

The bat may not go off, but the batsmen does! :D

Give it a coat of oil and a little knocking in... if kept covered and stored away I think it will be absolutely fine... if not... you know the drill... :D

I know that one. :(
Lofts can be very warm places, can't they? I know some old bats of mine seem to get pretty well dried out in my parents' loft. I never tried using them.

Thanks guys, turns out a club near me has indoor sessions on Friday evenings. I'll take the willow down and see if they've got any life left.
