Title: M&H Clearance
Post by: jjelricksmith on April 04, 2018, 10:36:11 AM
Has anyone used the M&H clearance page? You submit your requirements and they reply with what they have in your budget. Have always loved M&H since back when they did the Taunton county shows but can't bring myself to pay their new retail prices. Anyone got any feedback on this service?

I would be weary of their bats in the clearance. I don't know how they operate with the clearance page these days, but previously they used to sell a lot of storm damaged bats for a fairly high price from memory.

Ah, that infamous video.

"Storm Damaged. No Warranty. £250. Bargain!"

They're not just M&H bats either, a lot of refurbs they receive through their trade-in scheme. Last time I was down the factory there was a fair few stickered up being sold as clearance that clearly weren't M&H

You mean clearly weren't SS? ;)

That's real stinky, especially as I contacted them about buying a set of stickers for my 100% genuine M&H and they politely told me to do one. I understand that for companies that really value their labels and reputation, but for those that will happily slap their stickers on old refurb etc it's a bit pointless.

Ooooo i didnt know that about the storm damage, a team mate has a pro le with a dent in the back thats been covered by filler and was half price so was assuming most in clearance were factory seconds, knocks, pressing cracks etc.

I think you'll find there is a lot of 'filler' when it comes to that brand mate.

Ouch, I'd like to hope not seeing as the one he got was from Gary Palmer, lions coach, and made for his son. Their hugely concaved bats have always interested me and would love to give one a go.

Not sure those w bats are a winner to be honest - I've seen two in person. One chap who couldn't get it off the square (in fairness not necessarily the bats fault) and one I got a closer look at, couple of edges had taken seriously big chunks out of the bat.

Gary is a good chap - he showed me several SS M&H bats when I was there! Tapped up nicely too and were decent enough, as long as you didn't see the pricetag!
The ones he showed me were very concaved which I don't particularly like. And similar to you, I wasn't keen on the prices and the fact that majority are not made within 4,000 miles of their workshop!
