Atomic now has a mid/low profile instead of the mid from last year (17/18)

I think the Kronus has taken over as the Mid middle bat.

The Giant looks as subtle as a brick doesn't it :)

i thought that!

that much wood through the blade will make a mockery of the new laws though!

even non middled shots will fly off that thing!

Have you seen how beautiful the Aussie Kronus gloves are??? So much better than the horrific UK version

Is Shaun Marsh going to be the face of Gray Nicolls now Warner has been banned.

I do like the new range..From pics, velocity has huge edges, not sure if that is true..

Regardless of description,  atomic 18/19 profile looks the same to me .
Kronus looks to be basically the return of the e41 , rebadged .

That is what I thought on the Atomic, just a dodgy description. I can't see that they would change what must have been one of their most popular bats

I actually think the middle is a little bit lower, it just seems thicker down low. Might just be my bad eyes playing a trick on me.

To be fair, yes those two pictures do look different but then there were subtle differences in shape between Indian made and Aus made Atomics for the current season anyway. I'd wager the bottom pic is just an Indian made one. See post #126 here: http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=42799.120 (http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=42799.120)

I hope you're right as the Atomic was such a good profile

Pretty certain this isn't Indian made as this is probably a pre-production sample.

@Aussiecollector can you give us a short description of how the bat feels and what is comparable in the old range? Wouldn’t have a bat from the new range with a big bow? Not a powerbow....some other name  ;)

@Aussiecollector can we have a new thread, cataloguing all of your prize willows? Every photo you post has a whole host of interesting bats in the back of it!

Are these Indian made? As it only states 'designed in' on the stickers?

The only noticeable between Indian & Oz made are the handle cap and the use of Zinc Oxide tape.

Maybe @sarg and @Aussiecollector  can let us know their thoughts re difference in pressing between indian vs oz gn's ?

Really depends on the grade. Assuming we are not talking about Readydead, I mean readypress. Indian made ones for the Aussie market feel a tiny bit softer. I’d say the hydralic presses are calibrated the same. Difference is adjustments for willow moisture. Both have the same characteristics of feeling medium/hard pressed and once oiled and played in they get up and boogie.

Giant ordered  ;)

Does any of the forum's resident Oz GN experts know if the Ultrabow 750 is going to be handmade in Oz?

It appears to have the Oz made stickers but I can't see in the description it being mentioned anywhere.

$299 is pretty good in todays market. Hopefully the willow is good.

Giants will be 3lb plus.

Probably.... the profile looks huge so would expect that weight! A lot of wood seems to be left in the shoulders/top of the bat though so that should aid pickup.

It is a shame GN Aus won't be making any really BIG bats.

I'm interested to see what the ultrabow will be like and whether it could jump above the silver as my next coveted oz gn.

I'd love to own a XXX-11...seems like the spine is gone...older models had a beautiful high spine.

From that photo it looks like youre right re the spine height. The shoulders look much thicker too......but hopefully its just an optical illusion /bad angle /big heavy bat in that photo.

From what ive read elsewhere on here there will be no kaboom range for gn this season . Maybe there might be a similar range though , depending on who the big , yet to be announced,  signing is ? Maybe the Mitch Marsh 'womp womp' range perhaps ?  :D

Thin semi oval /oval bottom hand.
Some are round at the top and some are semi oval at the top.
