I'm sure we have a few Surrey-based members on the forum, so has anyone entered this new competition? I'm not sure how it's come about but I've been impressed with their social media and organisation - everyone has a cool logo and there's some coloured kit going around as well. At least there's a recognition of the popularity of the shorter form of the game, and as far as I know some of the teams are made up of players who can't commit to weekend cricket.

My team is the Putney Super Vikings - what's yours?

I play my cricket in Surrey but have never heard of this, seems like a good idea really. Looks to be fewer of the bigger, top division championship sides and more of the smaller clubs which I guess is good. Should be a decent competition by the looks of things

My club have entered. Not sure if I will be able to (or inclined to) participate.

I thought the surrey slam was @FattusCattus's signature finishing move!

My club have entered (Cheam Villagers, abysmal name I know), unsure the balance of full playing members and people that just want a mid-week game will work, as we have had a lot of enquiries, whilst many members will want to play!

You’ve got a tough group; Wandgas are no pushovers and Thames Ditton have a couple of really excellent batsmen!
-
Just seen this, we’ve entered as Kenley Hurricanes, currently second but yeah it’s been pretty decent.

We've lost 3 out of 4 in the groups so will be entering the wooden spoon contest!
Our Surrey Slam team has consisted mostly of players who can't play Saturdays anymore, as well as Saturday 2's players, so it's not surprising we haven't performed.
I played my first game last night, only scored 12 off 16 but part of a 60 partnership with my skipper. 61/2 when I got out soon became 65/5 and then 91ao. I think my batting style is quite suited to T20 - I run hard and turn 1s into 2s - but when the bloke the other end doesn't want to run it's quite hard!
