Who is your unconditional favourite player of your lifetime.
Just post their name. That’s it.
I’ll start:
Virender Sehwag

Viv richards

Barry Richards would be in with a shout if he wasn't always moaning about modern bats.
Alec Stewart, Robin Smith and Ramps also get a mention.
-
Brad Hodge
Joe Scuderi
Greg Blewett
Chris Broad
-
Sehwag for me as well. Incredible ability to pound boundaries at will.
-
Sir Sanga! Best batsman in any format of the game.
-
Misbah-ul-Haq for giving greying club cricketers across the globe the hope that we've still got a few good years left in us

Sanga, best batsman of all time. Batted the same in all formats and was successful in all of them. Also got to respect him for staying with his country so long and not taking the franchise route as he was at the age where franchises were coming in as his career was tailing off.
-
Kumar Sangakara. That stumping .....
Was always annoyed he was never mentioned when gilly was forever mentioned as best keeper batsman. He got the accolades in the end.
-
Botham Boycott sobers. Truman. dexter Barrington when he went out to bat for England it was said you could see the saint George flag behind him.
-
Brian lara, de villiars, KP
-
Show my age here....
Freddie
-
Aravinda De Silva
-
King Viv.
-
Hard to pick one because I was inspired as a teenager by the 1981 ashes, I can remember well running home to watch botham's innings and then Willis bowl them out.
With no sports fans in my family I was on my own more excited than I can ever remember and no one else really got it.
But if I had only one choice it would be IVA Richards. Despite the fabulous batsmen of recent years I've still not seen anyone better.
There have been some players like Lara who was just pure genius when the mood took him and temperamental which made him far more interesting to watch but Viv for me has been the best I've seen.
Bit of long winded answer to this post but it's hard to choose just one.
-
Aravinda De Silva
A fabulous player, really really wonderful to watch. Maybe a bit under rated?
-
Samit Patel- very underrated, very good and very wide!
A true hero!
-
Ian Botham and Mark Cosgrove for giving us fat blokes hope.
-
Alex Stewart, the reason i became an opening bat + wicket keeper
-
I'd say KP as he could take apart an attack for fun, and Jaques Kallis as the greatest all rounder I've ever seen play
-
Kevin Peterson.
-
Has to be the two players who got me into Cricket
Freddie
KP
-
Batting - Matthew Hayden
Bowling - Shane Warne
-

Yeah, most of his career was wasted due to the era he played, played in a semi professional minnow team with lack of opportunities.
Most naturally gifted and the best ODI batsman to come out of Sri Lanka in my opinion.
