Post by: alexhilly1492 on April 24, 2018, 02:02:49 PM: Anyone in and around Warwickshire/Cotswolds fancy a game on Saturday for ashorne at stoneleigh,

Pre-season friendly potential to play with a few other forumites

EDIT:

now i have a little time,

as above, Ashorne are playing away at Stoneleigh CC on staurday (28/4/18) and in need of players,

the ground has a magnificent setting in front of the imposing West Wing of Stoneleigh Abbey . In 2003, the ground was awarded the accolade of ‘the loveliest village cricket ground in England’ by the Wisden Cricketer Magazine.

now to the important bits, good wicket offering a little for everyone, decent carry and a little movement early on and even the new wickets turn but flat enough for the batsmen to score on once in.

good teas too!

You'll be playing with a friendly bunch and we are proud to have 4 forum members as members of the club

with the season round the corner dont miss an opportunity for a warm up game before the leagues start!

Looks lovely. Brought back memories of the Cricket Pitch beside Bamburgh Castle. I’ve never played there but visited the village/castle a few times and the setting of the cricket pitch is stunning.

Worth a google search if you haven’t seen it!
