So although my H4L Warbird is an absolute gun its just a tad too heavy for me and my dodgy elbow even though it's only 2lbs 11. So I'm looking at selling to fund either a Blank Bat or an Aldred in a lighter weight. What would be the recommendations? I like all the look of all of the BB shapes and the Aldred Prestige inparticular. I usually like to feel the bat and could get to Aldreds place as I live in Yorkshire, so not far away. Do B&B have a showroom or is there anywhere you can view their bats? Thanks

If you want a light bat I'd be more inclined to go for a BB than an Aldred
-
Had both, liked both, but as Cam says if you want a lighter bat then BB would be my suggestion, my current BB is pingy, big and and under 2’10.

Thanks for the replies. Is there anywhere you can view Blank Bats range?

Send a watsapp message to Tai and he will send you pictures of his stock.
And then more pictures of beautiful bats...

Your handle preference might be key here - Aldred favours a fairly thick handle, whereas BBs are usually pretty thin iirc?
If the handle thing doesn't send you one way or another then going to visit Aldred and get one made in person seems a no-brainer to me. I have a fairly light butterfly and it's superb so would happily recommend, teammates have also had cracking examples.

Sorry if this is well known already but are BB keeley made?
-
Preference is for a thinner/ rounder handle, which had made me lean towards a B&B as I'd read that Aldreds are pretty thick. Will he not make them thinner if required? I'd prefer to be able to see/pick up the bat if possible, although not a complete deal breaker. I'm looking at 2lbs 8 or there abouts, as i want a really light pick up/feel.

If your after a butterfly from aldred the lighter clefts seems to fly out so your better off getting the ball rolling asap

Could probably stretch to a grade 1. I know it's not about looks but not sure I'm keen on the butterfly willow, although I know it performs.

Aldred makes a mean butterfly bat and you shouldnt be hung up on the stain - some can be quite nice adds character to the bat.
But the butterflys can be heavier and I dont think Paul has too many lighter clefts in from what i have read on social media so best be quick

Some of the light bat issue with Aldreds, iirc, is that you ask for a 2.8, so he sends you a 2.11 because he knows what you want more than you do.....

I got what i asked for with him, i was already aware that he advertises the difference between feel and dead weight so i said 2.7 feel max 2.9 dead weight and worked perfectly. Love my bat from him and will definitely rebuy. However i did have that issue with M&H. Asked for a 2.8-9 and was sent a 2.11 1/2 which had 2.9 written on the shoulder.

I asked for a light butterfly the day the new willow arrived and it was all pre sold even though he told me to call back on the day it arrived. I guess you cant guarantee what willow you are sent

Send your old bat to Paul if you liked the handle hes great at replicating bats. Ask for him just to copy the handle and make the rest to whatever shape you like. If 2.11 warbird was too heavy might want to look for a 2.8-9 as warbirds do pick up very well with shorter blade and counter balance.

Thanks for the advice. Went with a Blank Bats in the B1 profile in the end, lovely bat.
