Got some spare time on my hands. Anything of Cricket shop interest around there?

Might even venture as far as Colchester. Any ideas guys?

Hi mate

I work in Ipswich and live about 25 mins away, basically no there isn't. Coe's is a large department store in town holds a decent selection in there sports section but only for the big brands, GN, GM, Kook and NB.

About an hour away from Ipswich is Vulcan Cricket, in Suffolk is Garrad & Flack and Hunts maybe just over the hour mark. Warsop in Essex about the same. Depends how good traffic is on the A12 or A14 depending if your going Essex way or Suffolk way

Chris

If you do go up to G&F (highly recommended), then it's a relatively short hop to Mr Cricket in Burwell, near Cambridge. They have a good range of bats and kit, and friendly staff who know their stuff.

In the end I had to pass Colchester so I popped in there. First found Excel Cricket. Well I say found, it had already closed down so I asked about anywhere else and More’s Sports was recommended. Turns out they were having a closing down sale. The owner is approaching retirement and with a lease renewal coming up that was for a minimal of 5 years he’s decided to call it a day. Unfortunately all of the adult gear had gone apart from some Kook keeping gloves but I was able to come away with a GM duffle for £15.
