I was looking to purchase an Aldred Cricket Odyssey bat. I usually get the G1 and weights i prefer are 2.10-11. Previous bats i owned are Laver and Wood (Mega), SS Master 9000, SF Sapphire. All the bats i have are long blade. After a lot of research i decided to go with Aldred but just wanted to see if there are any better bats out there that i might be overlooking
Pitch conditions: Astroturf with a cement base (consistent and predictive bounce)
Playing Position: 2 or 3 down
Playing Style: Mix of timing and power hitting (when required)
Sweet-Spot: Mid to low
Handle: Oval

I have an Aldred and it’s fantastic. If you are very picky about the dead weight I would go elsewhere as Paul
Will probably not give you a bat of the dead weight you requested. He tends to make bats that are ‘light’’ ‘medium’ or ‘heAvy’ In their pickup. This method is contraversial on here but to be honest worked brilliantly for me. Also, all of his bats I’ve seen/owned have had a mid/high middle.
Personally I would not worry too much about willow grade. There are many other makers out there you could try. A custom bat/bat bought without picking it up first is always a risk, the fussier you are the less suitable this buying method is.

Will do it once i receive it and have a few net sessions with it to let it open up before i can give it some kind of justification

Love my Aldred, will definitely rebuy once mine breaks. Might have to grab a net bat to go with.

What Aldred bats have you had the experience playing with ? What kind of pitches do you play on and what profiles do you prefer ?

@Gurujames Aldred is fantastic I had a little tap up at nets & much as I hate to say it (as it contradicts everything I thought I knew) it picks up lighter than its weight. Which really ought to be a warning on cbf cliche bingo - but damn it if it isn't true
