Title: Helmet for cochlear implants
Post by: t2ylo on May 13, 2018, 07:20:20 PM
Dear Forum,

One of the youngsters in our U13 team has cochlear implants - he's a cracking cricketer but is of an age that he now needs to wear a lid in hardball matches.

He finds helmets incredibly awkward.
I was hoping you may have some suggestions to help him find a comfortable solution.

Thanks

Speak to Tom @Ayrtek Cricket I would suggest he will need a junior lid but with the inflatable lining.
Anything else will be too tight over the implants.

Super stuff @Ayrtek Cricket
Let us know how the youngster gets on @t2ylo
It be a crying shame to lose a keen young player.

Thanks mate will drop you a pm - would extra padding in a men’s helmet cut out to avoid implants work?

That another option as 1 of the Youth size padding is 18mm thick so would give a good recess.

I’ll reply to ur PM shortly 👍
