Play with a smile on your face, enjoy every second and before you know it everything will come back naturally.
Good luck mate

Would echo this completely. Only thing I would add is don't be scared to get involved just because you haven't played for a while, take the opportunity when it's there etc...

I had a 15 year gap from playing, first game back I couldn’t believe I’d left it that long. It’s now a huge part of our family’s life, the social side is great

Nice to read someone is starting playing again when many are packing in. Give your confidence and yourself a chance let ta couple of balls hit the middle of your bat before you start playing shots and enjoy it.

Your answer was in the question....just jump back in . It literally doesnt matter , and if you just play the game in the moment then you wont have distractions and as many nerves . Tell yourself you can worry or analyse what it's like to play after 5 yrs once the game is over .

Be sure to stretch out and warm up properly before the game. I always end up walking like robo-cop for a few days after the first game of the season as the muscles get used to being used again
