May have been done before... what kind of reaction do you get when you turn up to training/games with a different bat every few weeks? :D
I have a bit of a reputation for buying new kit- i think they all think I have more money than sense. I've been quite good this season though, I've been using my trusty Chris Lynn velocity all season, although this may change tomorrow! My switch in softs seems to have gone under the radar however!

I have lent my Affininy Carbine out to a teammate already. Another teammate recently broke his bat so I took all my remaining 9 bats up last Wednesday so he could pick one he liked best. He was happy he had so much choice. Others questioned why I had so.many but it told them that I use them all every season. The 2 people I have lent to are more than happy.
The lad hit 39* so my collection is not only good for me but the club too. Loads of others are pleased that I carry around at least 10 spare grips, that I lend out pads etc.

Usually when i walk in the dressing room and the guys see my bat i get the is that another new bat comment and I sheepishly reply yes and they give me the more money than sense look.

P**s take generally as I’m a number ten but I only have 3 bats
I play with other forumites so it’s fairly spread out!

They always take the p*ss until they want to buy or borrow a bat, then suddenly it's "amazing you have so many"
I've found myself carrying my own match bat and the one everyone else wants to use this year, there were even words between two teammates as to who got to borrow it from me last week

I cop some ribbing and a lot of 'but why?' . I also have people hover around my kit bag wanting to look at my latest kit aquisition. New bats seem to get a lot of interest and get passed around in admiration ( no more so than when i showed up with my first xp80.....never seen grown men giggle so much). After a while people tend to see you as a source of info when they are contemplating a new purchase and /or needing repairs etc .
Overall , its not a bad thing really .

Take the abuse with pride!
I am always happy to flog surplus bats so they are usually happy. Half my team use bats from me!

Everybody in tomorrow’s 11 has had something from me in the past. Reading’s cricket supllies

I think over half the club are either using bats, pads, bags or have had them off @t2ylo and myself over the past few years.
I think I've got 4 previous bags doing the rounds in the team at the moment.

I think i may be in the minority here - just 1 match bat - the other 4 have been retired and dont really come out - need to sell one though.
Just one set of pads gloves etc. I cant bloody afford any more!!

I usually sell a bat to someone at my club most seasons. Just sold a fantastic Hawk, just a bit heavy for me. My team mate is over the moon with it after having had a poor season with his old bat, as he scored 40 and 66 in his 2 knocks with it. They joke about yet another new bat, but mates sometimes ask me to get them a bat or go with them when choosing one. This week a team mate texted me about where to get a good set of pads from for £50. I take it as a complement, but I've actually only had 4 pairs of pads myself in the last 30 years, so I'm probably not the best to ask!
