Morning guys
I'm after some advice on a shoulder injury that I believe I suffered early on in the season.
Basically every time I throw the ball I get a shooting pain in my shoulder. The pain is round the back if that makes sense? It will then ache for a while but is tolerable and eases off.
Strangely this is only when I throw the ball, I can bowl with no pain.
Is this something anyone else has suffered from?
What can I do to ease this or cure it?
If the answer is don't play and give it time to heal, I'll have to grit my teeth and get on with it, I'll have 7 months to rest it once the season has finished. There's no way I'm missing biggest part of 2 months worth of games if I can help it!

doctor, injection, physio, couple of weeks off, strengthening exercises. Fixed
Or new arm

I don't do needles so I'll pass on the injection!

I’d buy a new bat. That’ll help...

Not a fix for the immediate situation , but if it persists long term..... practice throwing action in mirror with your throwing arm . Then try to imitate it with your other arm . Then eventually graduate to throwing a light ball lightly with your good arm and then use the other arm . Eventually your muscle memory will use good technique throwing with the other arm and you can practice using the other arm in fielding training . Then it will get to the point where you can do certain throws in a match with the other arm . Then the ultimate goal is to be able to do boundary throws with the other arm . You are then in a position to choose which arm to throw with depending on injuries /pain etc .
This may all sound like bs or too much effort ....but if you do it little by little you'll be surprised at how you can actually get there .
I am naturally pretty ambidextrous and canget my other arm throwing in good nick without too much effort , but have seen guys improve out of sight in only 6 months or so by basically going through the process i mentioned .
Ideally , coaches should be encouraging kids to learn to throw with their non bowling arm (i was taught this way and it has been a great help in avoiding /exacerbating injuries over the years ).

Suffered exactly the same thing a few years ago. Got diagnosed with tendinitis. Physiotherapist recommended rest along with minor band exercises. Just gotta give it time to heal up

I had similar from fallining on shoulder during feild hockey. Shoulder join is very shallow, doesnt take much to annoy a ligament there. Anti-inflammatory ie ibrofen helped me, then just kept playing and it got better over 5 months. My path was: Saw dr, got ultrasound and xray, went to orthopedic specalist who said wait x months then if not better would book a mri scan. Didnt need mri in end.
Could be worth going to dr to get stuff rolling, can be waiting lists to see speclists.

Ditto injury happened to me last april. Its recommended to visit an orthopedic specialist and get an MRI done. For me it was a tear of the rotator cuff tendon. The best thing to do is physiotherapy and to strengthen the muscles around the rotator cuff. Look up external rotation exercises for your shoulder they help a lot. It has been over a year now. My shoulder has improved but not perfect. I now do round arm throw like a bowling action if throwing from the boundary just to be safe
