Title: Starting a new cricket company
Post by: Mikey_1994 on July 20, 2018, 10:21:32 PM
I’m in the process of starting a new cricket brand and I’ve got all soft designs ready and stickers being printed, but I’m struggling to find a bat maker for my bats and was wondering if anybody new anyone good and could get me a way to contact them??

Thanks

Good luck with your new venture.

There are plenty of good bat-makers, both in UK and abroad. I presume you have spoken to the big names (Hunts, TK etc), without any joy?

Or are you seeking someone less 'mainstream'?

It might be helpful  to advise if you say why you are having difficulty in finding a batmaker.

Agreed - ie initial quantity required etc?

Some of the smaller brands on here may be able to help, although be prepared for not as you may be considered direct competition.

How are you getting on with softs manufacturers? I hear they can be quite challenging?

Hunts was my first contact but that’s really where my knowledge of people who makes bats for smaller brands runs out 😬

Being totally honest hunts is the only company that I know of that makes bats for other brands

I’ve tried asking smaller brands the same question but obviously they wouldn’t tell me for the reason you said. Quite difficult in terms of the softs mainly I think because of the language barrier trying to explain exactly what you want

BDM

mahajan & sons sporting pvt ltd

Havn't done this myself, but looks like BW cricket did https://www.facebook.com/bwcricket/photos/a.306953636112525.1073741830.285587624915793/469865623154658/?type=3&theater (https://www.facebook.com/bwcricket/photos/a.306953636112525.1073741830.285587624915793/469865623154658/?type=3&theater)

They don't appear to be in business anymore, possible the guy running it moved overseas or something.

SM website seems to imply they can do custom specs etc http://www.smcricket.com/tailor-made.php (http://www.smcricket.com/tailor-made.php)
