On concrete roads, expect the Rohit Sharmas, Shikar Dhawans and KL Rahuls to rule the roost..In fact, for flat tracks, the Indian cupboard is overflowing with options from 17 yr olds to 35 yr olds and just about any closed eye, random pick from the cupboard will most likely decimate the bowling..Kohli is absolutely not needed here..

He has played all the Asia cups since his debut. He deserves a rest for sure due to his aggravating back pain.

After the long and tough Eng series consisting of all formats, I dont see how he could play in asia cup starting in 4 days after last test. Good that he is resting.

Both Imam and Fakhar have couple of big not outs which help but I guess scoring heavily against Zimbabwe isn't bad for a new comer as it helps their confidence level rise up.

Babar looked good vs England.  Neat and tidy, though seems like he was looking to score a bit quickly.

Whenever I hear some "associate" captain's interview, they complain about out lack of opportunities against full-fledged member teams. These young associate teams are no match for Pakistan but at least they are getting an opportunity to play against an established setup. I think Pakistan are being a good sport about giving opportunities to the associate teams. Look how well Bangladesh and Afghanistan are playing now. Everyone deserve a brake once in a while.

I know people. Let me know if you are interested in playing against Pakistan. I'd put a good word in for a friendly match between your Chipotle-11 and some Pakistan side.

Just Kidding.

Has Bangladesh done enough in one days and T20 to be considered number 3 side in Asia behind India and Pakistan?  They have definitely played better than Bangladesh and Sri Lanka recently and they might be just be half a length behind Pakistan based on the performance in Asia Cup.  They destroyed Bangladesh today.  Now test cricket is a different story but they have only played one test so far.  I get the feeling that they play as a team and are not reliant on any single person to win every game for them other than maybe Rashid.

Bangladesh are a good side in sub continental conditions, just they got shell shocked by Rashid Khan's swashbuckling half century that essentially took the game away from the Tigers. Their woes are compounded by Tamim getting his wrist broken against Sri Lanka

Elsewhere Hardik Pandya is out of the tournament with back spasms, Shadrul Thakur groin injury and Axar Patel damaged a finger on his bowling hand.

India vs Bangladesh
Afghanistan vs Pakistan

India battered Bangladesh in the first 'super 4' match. The Tigers could only muster 173, mainly due to Mehadi getting 40 odd. Jadeja, Bumrah and Kumar took all ten wickets between themselves. Rohit helped himself to 83*.

Honestly, 13 ODIs are a small sample size as well.

I think Pakistan's bowling lineup with the young Afridi is quite potent and will give this Indian batting some serious trouble if they are all on song. It should be a good chase for the neutrals.

The Fizz saves Bangladesh's bacon as Afghanistan suffered another final over defeat. Fizz managed to defend 7 off the final over.

India humiliated Pakistan with a 9 wicket trashing. Dhawan and Sharma both got 100s. Shaheen Afridi looks a prospect, shame that the Pakistan fielders drop plenty of catches of his bowling. Sharma was dropped thrice before reaching 100, two of those where absolute dollies.

Bangladesh vs Pakistan basically a semi final

I see what you did there, very clever. Although points 1&3 are essentially the same despite neither being true.

I used to get involved quite alot discussing thing like (SHOCK HORROR) bats and cricket kit. One thing I have never seen you talk about whichever alias you choose to use.

Your constant bitching about the same players and countries you used to under Gerry and whatever that other username was makes the multiple personality thing pretty obvious to all but hey if thats how you get your kicks. You must be some cricketer yourself to be confident in slating international pros regularly  :D

Obviously if you get banned from the forum under one username its ok to come back under another identity - probably in the forum rules. Carry on and enjoy yourself Gerry!

You can have the last say -I wont clog the thread anymore. Apologies to the rest!

Agreed, definitely a small sample size. But at this stage in his career you cant really fault him too much. Sure he's had a couple of failures in this series, but considering all the different openers Pakistan have tried recently and the historically inconsistent nature of their batting, they might have found a long term opener in Fakhar.

You cannot expect someone who hasnt been regularly playing to just come in and start performing, especially in pressure situations. This is always the problem, especially for a batsman sitting on the bench. I fear Manish Pandey's career might get jeopardized waiting for his turn.

India won the Asia cup for the seventh time in a thrilling and absorbing finale in Dubai. Bangladesh will feel like its an opportunity that's once again slipped through their fingers. The Tigers romped off to 120-0, Liton Das smashed the Indian bowlers all over the park, Das reached a dazzling century. But Bangladesh crumbled to 222 all out.

India where cruising to victory 137-3 when Bangladesh applied the squeeze. Jadhav pulled his hamstring for the hundredth time and Bangladesh nearly pulled it off. But a limping Jadhav won it off the final ball.

Asia cup was decent viewing coming down to skill over brute strength due to the incredible heat in the middle east

Indian middle order issue will not be solved without solving the big issue - that of Dhoni. To get away with need to finish games, he expressed desire to bat higher recently, but he doesn't have the game to bat higher either, either eats too many balls putting pressure on other end batsmen or gets out. This is going to affect India big time in WC..
