So today I ventured down to the Melbourne Cricket Sale and managed to find something pretty special. I grew up idolising Adam Gilchrist, and as a young lad some of my first wicket keeping gloves were his Iconic orange and silver Puma Ballistics, I was searching through a basket of assorted cheap indian made wicket keeping gloves when at the bottom, I spotted these..and to add to my luck, they were priced at the princely sum of $10au

Great find.
Will you use them or keep them for posterity?
-
You have picked up an absolute bargain there
-
My first ever keeping gloves these, although my inspiration was Garaint Jones in the ashes who also used these. Had the full puma orange set up that year including the bat which was 2.11 when I was far to young and small for the weight but had to have it

I'm not entirely sure to be honest, id love to use them, but i can't help but wonder how many more pairs would actually be floating around in brand new condition and that it might be better to keep them fresh.

I was always a massive fan of the orange ballistic range, to be honest it was what probably started my cricket gear obsession :D

The early model ballistic bats were serious bats. I still have one in the shed somewhere with the carbon handle. Hit some big bombs with that even tho it was only 2.7

Let me know if you ever decide to sell them I'd be happy to take them off your hands

Proper vintage!

I was never able to get one of the bats, but knew a few people who did and they all seemed like cannons! Its a shame that Puma are getting out of cricket as I had always hoped that they would bring that range back and cash in on the nostalgia.

Puma have made the right decision to move away from cricket for now.

Please dear lord sell me these :O
My jealousy levels can not cope.
What a find - these, the subsequent green ballistic gloves and the pink Boxing Day test gloves sparked my love for cricket kit. Not to mention Gilchrist being the reason I wanted to play cricket in the first place. What an absolute hero and what an absolute steal! By all means drop me a dm if you want to let go of them!
Go well

aren't these the ones Geraint Jones was wearing for 'that' catch?!
