Post by: alexhilly1492 on October 02, 2018, 03:45:50 PM
As the 2018 season has ended i thought it was a good time to look ahead ot the next one regarding transfers staring with:

Rikki Wessels to worcester on a three year deal from notts

I wonder what warwicks are going to do. They’ve replaced Barker and Wright but i dont know who or if they will fill a Trott sized hole.

Wessels to Worcester is a great signing.

Wessells probably saw the writing on the wall when Notts started signing every young bat going. But he'll be a big loss.

I’d have said madsen but he’s just signed a new contract at derby

Was he released by Middlesex or was he offered a contract? Seems a bit of an odd move from me given without injuries he could quite possibly end up warming the bench all season.

Reece topley moving from Hampshire to somewhere after his injury problems. Only played three games in 2 years.

Think there was a bit of a falling out there over Topley not getting picked for the one day cup final despite being fit and playing for the England Lions.

Billy Root to Glamorgan... @alexhilly1492

Don’t blame the lad but shame to see him go!

Hardly getting a game for us and batting at 7 int he t20!

Hope he gets a run on the glam side, will probably replace anuerin Donald at 3/4 I’d say!

Notts could be really shooting themselves in the foot! There is a genuine chance all 3 of the new signings could be called up by England and if, they are in the same side they could be losing valued team members.

For me, this is a good move for Root  - I wouldn't bet against him playing for England at some point.

Actually quite surprised that Yorkshire were not interested in Billy.

Indeed!

Another good season for slater, duckett or Clarke and a call can’t be far away

Slater is a long shot after playing at derby for so long but div one runs now can’t hurt!

Duckett I think is further away than people think, his Australia tour was shambolic and he hardly scored a 4-day run last year (as far a so can remeber)

Clarke well he’s been touted as England’s 3/4 for a few years now

They'd be incredably unlucky to lose two of them at once tbh, for all 3 to be called up there'd need to be a huge injury crisis or some sort of sandpaper related scandal.

Michael Carberry has been released by Leicestershire. Will be interesting to see if he gets another gig (Glamorgan?) Or will call it a day.

carberry is 37 or 38 now.

qualified electrician and DJ  :)

club cricket at top level seems to pay well for some retired pro's if he still wants to play

could/should of had more of a chance after the Ashes tour.

Carberry pretty much unemployable after his meltdown at Leicestershire, he threatened to take them to court because he was removed as captain

Was offered a new deal having been our best bowler second half of this season and impressing in white ball since arriving from Gloucestershire, but turned down to move to Hampshire

I don't think he ever w anted to leave Somerset. Interesting if true. From memory the club wanted to split roles with Kiesweter so neither player had the role of first choice keeper.

Butler IMO one of the most likeable players we have-his heart is with Somerset I hope this is true.
