Title: Latest Malik Range
Post by: FattusCattus on October 07, 2018, 11:38:50 AM
Hello Asian batfans!

Is anyone up on the current MB Malik range? In the old days the best bat was always the Sher, but these days ther seems to be Bubbas and LE’s and Dragons and all sorts, so I seem to have lost touch.

Is the Sher still the daddy? I’m looking for a decent mid-range Malik.

BUT!!! The big question is does anyone know of a reputable source to actually buy a Malik, either overseas or UK? There does seem to be a few dubious sources about!!

I'm always seeing these Malik Gold editions on the cricket sheds instagram which aesthetically look very nice indeed, grainy as hell. Not mid range though! bet they cost a bomb.

These guys have been around years- I must have bought a Malik there in about 2001- was far too heavy for me- gave it to a Surrey coach for a weight reduction and never got it back!

Bubber sher and sher amin are now mid range grade 2/3 bats now. Lala edition and reserve edition is their official grade 1 and gold platinum edition (not a fan of the name) and H pro editions are top of the range. They have an official ebay account called "mbmalik_online_store" and ship worldwide. The bats are genuine. I know the guy who handles that account personally as he operates through UAE. The bats are genuine but be clear about the weight that u want. And u can negotiate the price a bit by msging him.

Go with weight in grams, avoids the whole 2.8 lbs vs 2 lbs 8 oz mix up potential.

I have some direct link to MB. I get special prices and hand selected bats from their factory.

MB Malik had appointed me their Brand Ambassor for North America.

Their models are (top to bottom);

Gold Platinum
Reserve Edition
H Pro
Lala Edition (Yellow)
Lala Edition (Green)
Sher Amin

What’s your budget or what specs do you want? I can sort you out if you’d want.

How about the pearl edition? That looked nice.

Do they do any variation in shapes or are they all mid-high middles and spines in to the toe?

They do variation to slight extent, mid to high, mid to low etc.

@sgcricket - It is somewhere between Lala and H Pro.

I think The Cricket Shed are their official distributors in the UK (at least they stock MB and are mentioned in the official MB posts). I have a MB Platinum. Admittedly, done only a few nets but the bat is absolutely exceptional. I am surprised they do not market more aggressively compared with the likes of CA.
