Title: Lords Academy Coaching Session
Post by: velvetsky01 on October 08, 2018, 06:43:07 PM
Hey guys

I thought I would share my experience on Saturday.

My wife bought me a coaching session at Lords as wedding gift earlier this year when we got married. A lovely present and further proof that she is a keeper ha

The session was an hour long and included use of "Pitchvision" which allowed me to watch back every ball after i had faced it - which was great fun and very useful after working on things with the MCC coach - who was very nice and gave alot of great tips during our time together.

Its amazing to think the level of detail you can go to when you have the tools to do so.

After an inital set of balls to allow the coach to quickly assess my game. We then worked on a number of things, including - Head posistion, to try and keep my back foot straighter - it was bending while in the shot - trying to close my stance up slightly.
We only had an hour but I felt within that time after the drills in-between the sets of balls by the end I had made some improvement - I have things to think about over the winter...

Here are the videos (Please be kind in your feedback ;-) )

Super. May be I need some more guidance on the back foot being kept straighter. I assume this applies to only select few shots, or is it in general set of rules?

My disclaimer: never went to a coaching school :(

HI there

Felt my season went well - I scored a couple of big scores a 93 and a 71 but there were some lower scores in there too

I played a total of 19 matches and scored a total of 451 at an average of 26.53 - that includes  midweeks tho

Grubby I currently play for Bradford on Avon

Pitchvison was great - it was really interesting seeing a reply of each ball after you faced it. Obviously I didn’t watch every ball back but did the ones that I felt that I had done something correctly from what the coach had said - eg getting my back foot straighter
