Title: Gray Nicolls 2019 Powerspot
Post by: SOULMAN1012 on November 02, 2018, 08:39:22 PM
Evening all.

Here is the new 2019 powerspot. I was able to get this from Vinay @VKS and this is the reps demo bat that was shown to the retailers and at the Lords trade show. Simply stunning in my opinion with a totally full profile, mid blade profile and compared to other GN bats a thicker oval handle.

So firstly I am quietly confident this is a UK mate bat based on 2 things, firstly it’s the bat used to show to retailers and was used at the trade show, sencondly there are no shoulder markings which is the same as my Atomic which was confirmed to have been made in the UK. Now personally having used GN more than any other brand since Iv been playing the game I found them to always have slightly thicker handles than the Asian make GN bats. This is perfect for me as prefer a single grip set up.
Side wise it’s a big bat with 37mm edges and weight is 2.8 and that includes a fairly thick I think GN call it a players grip which I think is new for this year.

As you can see dead clean and even grains through the front and rear of the blade and straight through the toe. Only a few little specs on the blade, but overall one of the best looking GN bats Iv come across. Performance wise only tapped and old ball up but this is a real pinger. I will add specs such as edge size etc at a later date for now I’ll just share some pics

Oh I removed the back sticker at the bottom as I think it looks better than the red stripe the whole way down

Looks great. Also checking out '18 pro-performance pads... may go FKW for '19. I've contacted @Uzi Sports, to see if they can get a bespoke pro-performance powerspot (also without the bottom strip).

A stunning bat for sure @SOULMAN1012 and taking off bottom strip, really does look good.

When I first saw the pics of the new powerspit my first thought was that bottom sticker needs removing.

Great minds think alike.

Nice looking bat.

Looks a cracker - interested to hear how it performs.
Any difference to the model they released a couple of years ago?

Had an unexpected net today and gave this a little run out, only faced bola balls but middle appears to be very long with the 3rd ball faced coming straight out of the powerspot dead centre and rally felt lovely. I have a feeling my GM’s may get a run for there money in the match bat stakes next season

not actually too bad - would love a powerspot but funds dont allow at present.

Busy tidying up my old mans from years gone by at present but its a mess - plus a large crack through the grain from the toe up about halfway - put there by me about 10 years ago :-(
