First post ever! After breaking my hand whilst batting in the first round of the cricket season down here in AUS (my first game in 3.5 years after rediscovering my love for cricket), I've since been trawling through this forum learning about all facets of cricket bats.
As a result, I've just placed a custom order for a new JPGavan Little Ripper Limited Edition (LE). It's my first upgrade since my 2011 Kookaburra Blade 950 (Small Men's).
My requested specs on the JPG LE are as follows:
Size: SH
Weight: 2lb 7oz
Shape: Full
Sweetspot: Mid-High
Spine: Max height, max length
Edges: 30mm
Handle: Oval
Toe: Round
Pick-up: Light
To say I'm excited is an understatement, will keep you updated as I receive photos during the batmaking process :D.

very sensible request regarding weight and edge size.
-
Have just been sent photos from Josh of my finished bat, while it’s just been shipped.
Looks fantastic, very similar almost identical to my requests!
CHOLRUDEE has added the photos BELOW :D

Looks nice mate.
He looks like he'll be busy fixing a few bats by the pile in the background.

Shane Watson and Steve Smith.
Reports that he’s including a few packs of sandpaper in the return post are unconfirmed.

Think he should post some to Starc too

Those sgs look like massive over dried lumps!

They aren't actually that bad, smiths are worse, watsons are all about 2.12, smiths were all no heavier than 2.9 all filled the gauge and all very broken
-
Profile shapes for those curious. Smith's shape looks a bit like the BB B1.

Anyone knows what weight Warner is using these days? How big are his bats? Just curious how my ex-hero is faring in his months away on the Isle of Elba. :D

Dont know about weight, but went to watch him play in grade cricket and saw a few of his bats on the sideline, they're huge, I'd be skeptical that they fit through the gauge tbh. Looked a different shape too. Still a high middle but nothing like the GN warner

Probs because only plays the BBL now
-
Watson's looks just like his GM Players edition, maybe a touch bigger spine.
-
That JP bat looks a lovely shape, reminds me somewhat of a Laver & Wood Mega high profile. Personally I really like the shape and looks decent for the weight

Have heard initial shaping & pressing is done in India?

I believe Josh gets handled, pressed clefts which he then shapes.
-
Is Josh not on the forum, I've not seen any posts from him unless he's using a pseudonym

Pressing is, clefts are sent from supplier in India.
He makes bats for numerous First Class cricketers; good enough for them, good enough for me.
Plus, really enjoy how active he is on social media. His presence is in real time and for Steve Smith and Shane watson to trust him with their bats, it definitely reassured me I’ll be receiving a quality piece of wood.

I heard Australian Post had delivered it to Mitchell Starc..... :o
