I know this had been asked many times in different context but just wnated to start a topic to discuss what you people like and why you like it.
Your favourite bat grip and why you like it!
-
Either a yellow or black snake scale grip with a thin half grip chevron underneath
-
GM matrix grip, soft light, high quality and grippy... I haven't used anything else for ages!
-
I think GM make pretty good grips on the whole. I've been using their "terrain" grip recently, it's a bit like the old shock absorba
-
Coil in either black or white.
I like the feel a ribbed grip gives.
-
Chevron but looking forward to using new GM terrain grip. Generally outside the chevron the GM grips look good.
-
Depends on handle thickness and bat weight considerations:
Snake/Scale grip for reducing weight
Coil/wave grip if i can go extra weight or need handle thicker
Can't go wrong with GM grips in general - haven't used recent terrain grip but older diamond grips feel fantastic..
No octopus under any circumstance
-
Thin Chevron pattern used by Laver & Wood. It is light and feels secure in hands but it doesn't last long.
-
Like o feel the bat handle in the hands Chevron nice and thin ones allow you to.
-
I only use chevron. I have never felt better with anything else.
-
Used snake/scale for many years, but now have the wave grip on my oval handle B3 with a chevron grip underneath. Perfect for that bat, nice thick handle with a grip that has give in it. Works for me!
-
A nice thick ribbed rubber for me.
-
The New Adidas Ones are pretty nice not too thick or thin and double up and it's just right :D

UK made chevron, keyword is "UK made".

Where do you get these from, I’ve got some from getpaddedup just wondering if anywhere else did any decent ones

That’s two words, Uzair.

Yes I forgot to mention. UK made thick Chevron grips.

I always source them from @Blank Bats (both single and double).

I’m not sure if Adam from @Neon Cricket still sells his chevrons but they were very good value and good quality
-
I was chevron fan, then my hands started slipping a lot. Switched to gm new terrain grips. They have lovely grip but texture feels a but rigid to me. Switched back to chevron again and using newer pair of gloves with sheep leather palm.
Where can we get uk made chevrons in australi?
Have used gn as well as kookbura’s.
Kooka.s are thinner an gn are thicker.
-
Chevron or octopus. Or the grips GM used to put on their bats in 2017 i think it was called dynamic
-
I like a coil/ribbed grip. always feels more grippy/secure to me.
-
A nice thick ribbed rubber for me.
But what about your bat grips?
-
But what about your bat grips?
I just like the way the ribs fit round my fingers
-
Yellow Snake scale for sure.
Half moon isn't half bad either.
-
UK made or Indian made is literally pointless when discussing grips - rubber is rubber regardless of which part of the world it's shaped into a grip (I would argue the same for a piece of willow but lets not debate that one again!)
The key I've found with grips is the thickness, quite a few brands use very thin grips to save on weight. The difference between a thick and thin grip can be over 0.5oz, this may not sound much but by the time a thicker grip, toe guard, scuff sheet etc have been added it can be a good 2/3oz more for a properly finished bat than one with just a thin grip and labels - which leads us into the deadweight Vs pick-up rabbit hole too...
-
Putting that all aside, if it's not a White Chevron then it's not for me - I've tried almost every combination going and still can't find a better option for a combination of both grip and longevity.
-
Get padded up don’t do “UK made” as far as I am aware. For most people that means the softer, more latex feeling ones without molding lines inside.
I’ve always used Uzi sports but their postage is a killer. Lately Woodstock for a better all around price
I think they now are as
Get padded up grips state UK made on the invoice they also seem slightly thicker than previously.
-
Like many on here I guess, I have spent more hours of my life than i would care to admit playing around with different grip combinations. I use 2 chevron grips with an octopus grip on top. I have always found a thick handle improves pick up but also my control over the bat. I have a tendency to grip the handle too tightly but the octopus grip gives me the right balance between control over the bat without gripping it too tightly.

Blimey!!! That looks like a poor and bootlegged version of Younis Khan! Ha.
-
Can only use a spiral/Chevron combo one, but it looks like nobody seems to sell them anymore :(
