Title: Cookhill CC - Worcestershire / Warwickshire Border
Post by: kenbriooo on January 03, 2019, 08:17:32 PM
Hey,

If anyone is looking for a new club or challenge or simply wanting to get into cricket then we are always looking  for new players.

We are approx 30mins east Worcester, 30 mins south of Birmingham right on the border of Worcestershire and Warwickshire just outside Redditch.

We currently have one team with the hope of adding a second 11 next year allowing our thriving junior section a step up to senior cricket.

We play in the Worcs League and thanks to the recent reshuffle went from Div 5 to Div 9 despite avoiding relegation. We have a fantastic wicket that should have more runs scored on it than we do; much to our groundsman's frustration.

If you require any further information then please comment or message me.

Cheers

Kenny

Hi kenny
According to the restructure COOKHILL as been place in the same Div as Halesowen Hagley and Stone which is Div Ten.

My apologies Div 10 it is then. Took some doing to captain a rag tag side and avoid relegation, but still go down!

Yep it seems with the restructure  2018 promotion and relegation as been somewhat overlooked.

Most areas when they have such wide scale restructures end up essentially changing/ingnoring the previous season. Does it really matter ? Surely as long as no one has lost out on a total number of league games or overs/format within each game then meh..

Well  I think it does matter if the standard is to high you get hammered and if it's to low you go home early

There will always been a few teams in either situation . Unavoidable with such a restructuring. Wepl and glos did it a few years ago with some teams double relegated etc

We moved to the Worcs League a couple of years ago and got promoted from the division we were in due to a mini reshuffle. Lost a couple of players last season and struggled in the division we go moved into. Now It's the 3rd season in a row we have an unknown with regards to standards if oppo.

Thankfully no less games and we will get 11 each week and enjoy whatever happens.
