Post by: Kulli on January 23, 2019, 02:20:25 PM
Hi,

anyone with any experience of these, our league have switched balls without doing any match testing and a bit worried that it'll be a piece of ****.

Sussex league uses Gray Nicolls. Decent, hold shape and hardness pretty well, but as a spinner the seam could be a bit prouder. Prefer a morrant/dukes but a good ball.

Are you talking of Grays or Gray Nicolls?

If former, the top model of them is actually very good ball. It does hold up, doesn't fall apart and keeps it's shape too!

i have seen INTL teams practice with grays in nets along with kookaburra turf balls so they are actually quite good

This confused me too, the balls are from GOCPAK, which seemingly stands for Grays of Cambridge Pakistan. I understand they have (and possibly still do) made balls for Gray Nicholls, but are now a seperate entity.

Actually, your message lead me to Google it (link below) which tells me that Gray Nicolls is owned by Grays International and GOCPAK is that company (Grays of Cambridge).

Not sure if this information is outdated or not.

But Grays balls are actually pretty good/decent. Not bat breakers at all. It reminds me a touch of Playtpus.
