Title: Sunglasses
Post by: dan_griffin11 on February 18, 2010, 08:24:38 PM
Just curious as to who actually spends money on sunglasses, i swear by oakleys and have just got my second pair. But many people have said what a waste of money it is. Personally i think it's not, i'll spend 20+ hours a weekend in them so they should be top notch, what do you guys think? These are my new pair to replace my radar red g30's.

Going to London next week to treat myself to some Flak Jackets or M-Frames, depends what takes my fancy. Its fair to say you cant be a spinner without a good set!
I do a fair bit of cycling so will use them for that too.

Ive got several pairs of Oakley's and I've worn them for around 17 years now and they are simply the best available, unfortunately due to the fact i now wear glasses all the time and no longer wear contact lenses so i have a pair of m frames which are new going cheap if anyone is interested let me know.

Just the black iridium, might get some polarized in time for the summer, is the colour on yours the same in the pic as it looks in real life? quite like it

you did well mine set me back £250 for one set and £140 for the others! but they have lasted me well as had them a while now...oakley quality assurance is worth paying for IMO Polarised lens are worth forkin out the extra for far less glare off of them

Oakleys are the best sunglasses by a distance.

Out of interest tom were yours done through the Oakley custom shop online?

I am
looking to invest in another pair for this year and I think they will come out at just over 200 pounds.

I thought the same but once you get some you cant go back to anything else. They just feel so well built and for me anyway all of those broken £20 sun glasses add up in the end ;)

Tom - ATGNOI!!  ;)

I have a couple of pairs of Half Jacket HLI's which do the job - have several different lenses for them depending on the conditions. Having said that - I got them in the US when the $ was 2:1 with the pound and they were about £50 each... 8)
They don't seem to help me take catches though!!!!!

iv no idea what ATGNOI means i must not be down with the in crowd nowadays! Yeah cheap if you could pick them up when the pound was stronger than the dollar but unfortunately not so much now.

Mr cricket sporting sum duccatti's as well i see...a mate has "borrowed" mine which was prob 9 months ago now so will have to try and retrive my minutes from him

Uhh there is different models at different prices available. If you get them from oakly direct they will take ages to come as they are from the US .

Ian that's the popular feeling about glasses, but if you think it logically you should spend more then a bat and pads, think you use them the whole time in the field, while waiting to bat and normally in the clubhouse after, so thats about 20 hours of use a weekend, whereas a bats tops 5 hours!
Title: Re: Sunglasses
Post by: ianbuchanan on February 19, 2010, 01:30:42 PM
thats true for some people dan, but i personally hardly ever use them (the sun comes out about twice a season down here!)

I have some GN pro performance, didn't want to spend big until I had worn glasses fielding for atleast a season. they were £25 and came with light enhancing lenses aswell. Once I finish my level one coaching I can get Oakleys cheaper

Watson will be PM'ing you shortly

I'd love a pair of Radars or M-Frames, can't afford it though. Nor justify spending that much.

Looking to sell them as i have a new pair of Radars. If anyone is intersted please make me an offer.

Thanks

Carn that's also highly irresponsible as cheap sunglasses like that do not have uv protection from the sun etc and could cause damage to the user.

Just a warning to anyone looking to buy oakleys. i have had radars since the summer 09 now and i have taken them back once cos the paint on the frame was scrapping off. this has now happened again. so be careful when buying the Chrome White Frame. On the other hand they are so sexy ;) Lmao
